Thousands of entry locks and deadbolts have been sold under the Brands of Defiant (Home Depot) and Gatehouse (Lowes). Broken latches have until now, resulted in replacing the whole lock for lack of replacement parts. These entry latches and deadbolt latches are identical fit replacements if you have either of these brands. I had a failed entry latch on my door going into my garage. Literally had to cut it out with a hacksaw. New latch fixed the problem and fit perfect. I bought extra since I replaced all the entry locks, deadbolts, and privacy locks with Defiant locks in a renovation of my house. Glad to find these.

This is a perfect replacement latch if you have a lockset that works but needs a new latch, or in my case I had a lock with a latch that was missing and I couldn't install it without the missing piece.It was a perfect fit and went in fine with some minor adjustments to the door. It is compatible with locks using the same center hole and easy to install.

Kwikset lock female threaded posts from the lock end of the doorknob were slightly too wide to fit. Quality otherwise looks acceptable, sprayed with some lube and stuffed into the door after widening holes. Hopefully it lasts longer than a year like the one I purchased at Home Depot.

Cheaply made, not a very solid product. Would not extend out all the way. And NO! I did not tighten on it too much. I’ve worked with enough of these to know you cannot over tighten handel screws. Took it all back apart to spray lithium grease in it but it only lasted 2 days before binding up again. Went to Home Depot and bought a Schlage like I should’ve done in the first place. Problem solved.

My front door stopped opening when turning the knob in either direction. Amazon had a lower price for a replacement than big box hardware stores did. It installed easily and worked flawlessly. Great value for the price, and made very solidly.

My original latch failed. It broke at a casted section so was in repairable.I ordered this based on its dimensions. It arrived on time and was very easy to swap.Best thing is that it is adjustable to align with the square piece that goes through from handle to handle.
