As one of my godchildren is an avid reader, I am back reading children fiction again. This is one book she recommended. I have to agree with her: it is well written, a good story with an unusual plot which gets your fantasy going. I am looking forward to next 2 books of the triology.

Purchased looking for a way to "improve" my German: the book is the unabridged audiobook of Inkheart (Trilogy's frist volume). So no cut and could be listened while reading the book.For those who appreciate Inkheart story and knows German is a pleasure listen to Rainer Strecker's voice. It remains clear and understandable even for those who are working to improve their german.Understanding the text however requires a A2/B1 language level at least, even if it's a "young adult" book.
