No it can't be washed in a washing machine. Perhaps soaking it in water with vinegar and Dawn dishwashing liquid will clean it

I don’t know for sure but my guess is no. The beads are throughout the vest and are not removable.

Well this is just to fit a very small woman very petite?

Depends on the size ordered. I bought the 10 lb. vest and I am 5' 7" tall weighing 120 lbs. It fits me fine but it is too small for my husband weighing 160 lb at 5' 8" tall.

Can you swim with this?

I would not suggest swimming in it depending on your size and the weight of the vest -it could weight you down too much to swim. It is a neoprene vest that is filled with iron sand. It would soak up water and become even heavier. It would likely take a long time to dry out and ultimately cause the iron sand to rust.
