Wonderful for it's purpose...sleeping!
I've been using a weighted blanket for a while, but it was getting to warm this summer. My wife had seen this and recommended it. It's an interesting middle ground. While it is heavy, it doesn't have the same solid weight that a typical weighted blanket has. Much more distributed. The big win here is that it breathes wonderfully while still keeping you warm and much heavier than any common summer "blanket" you might want to go to.The quirk to it is the weave. This is not a toss around blanket. As others have shown, it doesn't take a lot of effort to pull the weave way out of shape. However, its easy enough to make things look normal again if you just smooth it out. Just don't try to grab and pull anywhere. No shaking it out or spreading it like you might try throwing it like a comforter or sheet. If you need to lift it, just fold it over a few times until you can pick it up with your arms and wide palms. Yeah, that may sound silly, but it's a very unique, and very nice blanket that should be taken care of with some basic sense. On a similar note, yes, the edges curl. Quite a bit actually. It will also stretch significantly if you let it hang over the edges. If you are buying this for it's purpose (ya know, sleeping) then you'll be fine. If you are buying it for looks or showing off to your friends, then you probably won't be happy. One cautionary note though... I would strongly recommend keeping it away from children because it is the equivalent of a very thick string fishing net. It would be very easy for a child to get caught up in it. Same thing goes for sleepers that tend to thrash or twist up sheets / blankets when they sleep.

So comfortable!
I had no idea what to expect and I adore it- itβs well made, weighted, cozy, cute and would buy a king size one next for the bed! Love it!

Cool, both in the looks and temperature department!
This is a very PRETTY blanket. Very well made and well packaged. Comfortable. Very breathable. I can feel my fan through the blanket which is great because I am a hot sleeper. I have two other traditional weighted blankets (15lb and 25lb) and both of them feel much heavier than this. But they get too hot. This is a good balanced blanket, not too heavy and not as light as a regular blanket either. Price point is high but this is one of two brands of knitted weighted blankets i could find. The other brand was just a bit cheaper but did not come in multiple colors or fabric options. Overall i think i would buy this again.UPDATE:Dropping it down to 4 stars because while it is washable i do not recommend putting this thing in a standard washing machine. I have to take it to the laundromat and put it in the big machines. Also i did get some pilling in the fabric but that might be from my dogs im not sure. overall still a great blanket and while its on sale i may be picking up another one!

Almost perfect for me.
This review is for the purple knitted version(looks like this particular color is not available currently). I got it on the 27th of December. I wanted this one because while I need the "heaviness" of a weighted blanket, I get too hot for a regular blanket. It has indeed helped improve my sleep quite a bit. I got the 15 pound queen size version. It is airy, but that's because it's made to be, and the main reason I bought it. It's also gorgeous! Now when I did open it it did indeed have a horrible chemical smell. I took an active approach to getting rid of it. First I washed it in our industrial size washer(I suggest going to a Laundromat if you have a regular size washer.) I followed the washing instructions, then put it immediately through a second wash with adding a presoak option(didn't bother doing this the first time). After that threw it in the dryer per instructions with a couple of good dryer sheets. Smell was gone and I could use it. Also this was the knit blanket and came out looking the same as it did going in. The first night I used it I noticed a definite stiffness but by the third night it was gone. The yarn they used is not overly soft but I find it very comfortable nonetheless. I love the fact that I do not have to worry about sand or pebbles leaking from it. The edges do roll, but since I have cats anyway I keep a coverlet over it most of the time. Of course the cats have pulled a few loops out of individual strands of yarn. To fix that I cut the loop and tied the cut strand together in a knot and trimmed off the excess. Damage goes unnoticeable, that way. In general I'm a restless sleeper, but the yarn one seems to be holding its shape. The pictures your seeing were taken 2.5 weeks after I got it, and obviously after putting it through 2 washes and dryer. The color of the pictures is not what it looks like in person(bedroom has lousy lighting)First picture is the main part of the blanket. Second picture shows how the side does indeed roll. Third picture is of the top of the blanket, which has not rolled. (So top and bottom don't roll only sides of blanket)I would say this blanket is not for everyone, but definitely for me.
