Candles work great, just wanted to highlight one issue with the pictures they have for the product. To change the batteries on these you need a jewelers Philips head screwdriver The pictures show that these are the newer models that have a slot you turn with a coin The only other difference is the details say batteries are not included. The ARE included Therefore these are one generation back from the current (Newest design) Other than that they are the exact same, just make sure you have a jewelers screwdriver on hand if you get these. No complaints here, just highlighting some differences in what was presented in the listing and what you actually get. These work as well as all our other Luminara candles.

I received these next day. These were packaged well and came with batteries. I will admit, I was not going to buy these because they are expensive but a few of the reviews said they were the most realistic fake candles on the market. I was still debating back and forth on ordering them but because they were also on sale so I decided to order them. I am very pleased with the look of these! They light up and the flame moves back and forth like a real candle! I wouldn’t be able to tell these weren’t a real candle unless I got up really close. I can’t review quality yet because I’ve only had them a day. I will say they do look and feel like they are made well. I want to get more when they go on sale, maybe some taper ones. These do cost a lot but if they last several years, which I heard they do, then they will be worth the cost. I love them and the calming affect and how nice they look!

Luminara taper and pillar candles are delightful. And though the tea lights are attractive at first, they rapidly disappoint. The timers turn off the candles but do not turn them back on. Battery life is a fraction of the advertised 50 hours. On the contrary, these little creatures have a voracious appetite for their button batteries, consuming them in about ten hours or less. My greatest disappointment was with Luminara product support. My initial email about ten days ago went unanswered, and I sent a follow-up after several days. The company has yet to respond. You would be hard-pressed to find a business that is more indifferent to its customers. I am returning the tea lights and will be cautious about purchasing any of their products in the future. UPDATE: Luminara customer service contacted me after this review was submitted but before it was posted, which is to say that my negative comments did not prompt their response. The suggestions provided by the representative to correct the issues with the tea lights were lengthy and could be beneficial, but I had already arranged for their return. Thus, I will modify my criticism of the product by saying that there are apparently measures that will improve its performance. I mainly wanted to absolve Luminara's customer service from my unfair portrayal of it as indifferent. If you need help with their products, they will try to help.

Love them. Looks so real my mom at 93 wanted to blow them out. I said go for it. She tried but couldn’t blow it out. Now that’s a great candle. Wished I took a video for this one

. . . my sister tried to blow them out lol. Even though they are pricey, for me they are worth it. Only improvement I would make is if they were rechargeable instead of battery powered.

UPDATE: After complaining to the company they agreed to either refund me or send me a new set of these candles. I chose to give them a second chance and asked for the new set. They work perfectly and i'm now very happy. The company was responsive and apologetic to my complaint so i am upgrading my review to 4 stars. (Still not 5 because there is a quality control issue- but the company is willing to work with the customer). These look beautiful when they're lit but the timer doesn't work at all. I ordered a set of 4 white tea-lights. One of them has a working timer but it emits a loud whining noise that drives everyone crazy so we can't use it. 2 of them stay lit for 5 hours, then turn off as they're supposed to- but then NEVER TURN ON AGAIN. That's it.. they don't come back on the next night. They just stay lit for 5 hours ONE evening and then they're done. And one of them stays lit for ONE hour, then turns off and never turns on again. I'm VERY disappointed as they were quite expensive. So if i want to use them i just have to turn them on, and then off, each night. I specifically wanted the timer function.

Works really well, just as bright as a normal candle in flickers, just like a normal candle. With the lights down in the room, you can not even really tell that it's not real. The remote seems to work well. Wish the batteries lasted more or had an alternative way to plug in like a USB.

My first experience with this company was amazing. I purchased three separate single pillars with lavender leaves candles. They are still working perfectly today. I love them. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the companys tea lights. I purchased 9 tea lights and all but one stopped working at different times before their first birthday. Before their death they would often not turn on at their given times set with the timer. I had to manual go around my entire bedroom and turn them all on. It was the strangest thing and extremely frustrating. Then they would run fine for the next few days only to stop turning on again randomly. I know it wasn’t the batteries going out because I would put new ones in to eliminate that factor. It would keep occurring every so often. I am extremely disappointed, until their demise I was so apprehensive about spending so much on tea lights but I took a chance because the pillars worked so fantastically. It is truly too bad because no one in the tea candle battery operated market comes close to making such beautiful lifelike candles and the flickering is truly amazing just so true to life. I almost want to give them a second chance but I just cannot fathom the idea of throwing away money. Another problem with these tea lights is there battery life is EXTREMELY LIMITED. I mean 50 hrs!! That’s insanely ridiculous!! What in the world!! Why so low! That’s only 10 days of use if they are on a timer like I use mine. That’s unacceptable especially for the price they are asking. There are other high quality brands of tea lights (Homemory) that I have personally used on Amazon that come in a pack of 12 that gives you a total of 400 hours and cost $16!!
