Saved me hundreds of pounds
My leather chair seat cushion had sagged. It is stitched to the frame and would have cost me hundreds of pounds for a professional upholsterer to fix it.The leather at the back of the seat is stitched to some fabric and I figured I could unpick the stitches along there then stuff the seat and sew it back together.I got this kit to do the job.The brown thread isnt an exact match for the leather but when the back cushion is pulled down into place, it would be hidden so I used it.Im glad I did because it is pre-waxed and very, very strong. The waxiness means it pulled through the leather with ease and its strength means you can give it a good tug to get the stitching tight with no danger of the thread snapping.I tried to sew through the existing holes in the leather but because I was sewing at the back of the seat it was a bit awkward and some times I had to make a new hole. This made my fingers a bit sore but the thimble/metal band supplied really helped here. I was able to use it to push the needle through. At first I thought it was a bit crappy but it worked well and it can be adjusted to fit different sized fingers.I tried a curved needle at first but found it awkward. So I tried the smallest needle because my working area was a bit cramped. It bent!So I used one of the large straight ones. That was much better. Thanks to this little kit and a bag of fibre filling I have given my old chair new life.Very pleased.

Brilliant, very happy
The media could not be loaded. My first attempt at hand sewing leather, I’ve made a small waste bin to use while I am sewing! Brilliant tool, easy to use, the leather thread looks amazing, very happy!

The needles break too easily.
You get a lot of things for your money, which is good. But I broke 3 needles doing repairs to a bag, where the bag had come unstitched. The holes were already in the leather, so I was usually putting needle and thread through those holes (though the needles had to hunt and try for those holes sometimes.), but the needles broke much too easily, as the task was not a difficult job requiring force, but the needles were just too weak metal. I think I'll go to my local market/sewing shop to get more needles, as it's not possible to tell online which ones are strong or are weak metal.

Did the job nicely
I bought this kit to repair a Fossil leather watch strap that had separated where it goes through the buckle. It was the second of these expensive straps to do that so I thought I'd try repairing it by stitching down each side of the strap. I'm quite happy with the results so have saved at least £15.

Leather Working Kit
Lightweight kit. Punch blade had a tendency to bend slightly, maybe I was to heavy handed. Overall a good kit for the price.
