These are very nice plates. If you take from freezer you must only put in a cold oven. or let them warm up on the counter. All glass plates will break if you put in a hot oven. also if you take a hot plate from the oven, do not put on a cold counter. Use a rack to put on when hot or pan holders till the glass is safe to handle.

Q: Frozen pie from freezer to cold oven then heat? Will they break? Want to be sure as don't want the mess!

I never tried that, but these Pie Pans are really nice. They are a good pyrex pan set. I doubt you would have any trouble with them. I am really pleased with them . I can't answer if they would break or not.

too deep for tarts but not deep enough for a traditional apple pie. I use for chess type pies, cream pies or chilled type pies.
