I read reviews about leaking problems, so I was skeptical. I have learned over the years, many times its the customer with two left hands. My filter has zero leaks, hope it stays that way. I' happy with my purchase. Now the filter carteridge is another story. The center hole is to large so it does not seat correctly. Barely catches, maybe Im getting some unfilterd water. . I bought 4 replacement filters. The product number matches the Filter requirements, I'm checking to see if its my two left hands.

I ordered this model because it has a clear filter housing and I can see the filter cartridge and make a better judgment on replacement. You will also need to order some filter cartridges AND possibly, a pair of adapters if you are connecting to a shutoff valve that has a 3/8" compression fitting. The adapters reduce the the 3/4" filter input/output ports(MIP, not GHT), to the 3/8" compression fitting of the shutoff valve. These adapters are available at Amazon(2 x $11.38 or, Home Depot(2 x $15.98). Use this description: "3/8" OD. Compression X 3/4" MIP adapter". You might shop around for a better price. The adapters come with a ferrel/compression nut which you will discard. You will also need another common 3/8" x 3/8" compression, feed hose available at Amazon, Home Depot, or Ace. Do some careful measuring because these feed hoses aren't real flexible and need a lot of length to go between the filter system and the shutoff valve.

I've been using these for over a year and OK so far. I installed two parallel trains, each having two filters in series. One of the housings has demonstrated problems with the red relief button seating properly, resulting in leakage after changing out the filters and a need to return several times to exercise the button until it resets.

Works great. I installed it myself but I used to do building maintenance, which made it easier. A person may need a plumber or handyman to install. The main water line needs to be cut and a section removed to install this. The connections all need to be watertight. When replacing the filter the top portion that the pipes connect to shouldn’t be moved too much or it could start leaking. A filter canister wrench is very helpful to remove and re-install the filter canister. The water in the house tastes much better is cleaner. When the filter needs replacing the filter is coated with rust particles so it filters a lot of things in the water that you can’t even see. I’ve installed these whole house filters in all the homes my family has lived in. It’s well worth its low price and lasts for years.
