Trusted easy to use quality product
I had been searching for a 2-wire WiFi compatible smoke detector / carbon monoxide / air quality alarms for ages and ages and was pleased to have finally found this device from a trusted name like KIDDE. Installation was a breeze when replacing an existing older 2-wire model. Twist and remove old device, unplug, remove mount (2 screws), install phone app, scan qr on back of new device, install new mount (2 screws), pull device battery tab, plug-in, twist into place, connect new device to WiFi using the app. I installed a total of 6 of the standard smoke alarms, a couple of the smoke / carbon monoxide, and a couple of the air quality devices and can now worry less. These devices are LOUD. They will wake your entire neighborhood up. They come with a 10 year lithium battery! The app is simple. All-in-all I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend to other people wanting to continue building their smart home.

Absolute junk and a safety hazard do not buy these
I bought a full set of these for my house because I take fire safety seriously and wanted a smart smoke detector that would alert me remotely. Since I have installed these the rate of nuisance alarms has quadrupled. Everything from humidifiers, cleaning products, vaporizers, and plenty of meals have set these off. On average, it’s happening two or three times a month. It sometimes won’t allow you to disable them when you do sometimes I have to go directly through the app, but there’s latency. Adds chaos to an already chaotic situation where you’re running around the house trying to get the smoke detectors turned off at 1 o’clock in the morning and you have to log into an app so you can press the button on there repeatedly until one of them goes through and hushes the alarms. The hush mouth is incredibly short only a couple of minutes. This doesn’t even give enough time to “clear out” whatever set it off. So it’s a game of smoke detector roulette where you’re unsure if it’s going to go off again after hush mode deactivates. I am no longer startled by the alarms going off and my husband just slept through the last one so It’s doing the opposite effect of what a smoke detector should do. When I was looking into them, I saw some of the reviews about the nuisance alarm and I figured it’s better to have one that’s too sensitive than the other way around. I was wrong. Also, when I was installing them, I noticed a hard disable switch that would completely deactivate the alarm permanently, and I thought to myself a weird feature? Now I understand why they Implemented that. If I had paid any less than what I paid for them, they would already be in the trash.

Best darn one I've found yet
This was recommended by some reputatable site, maybe wirecutter or something. Not only does it have wifi and app alerts, it also monitors your indoor air quality and shows you the total VOC's in ppb. I immediately paid for the subscription, very cheap and now I'm getting an idea of what's going on in the house. It turned out to be very useful and it alerts me when the VOC's get too high. So now I'm on the hunt for why our voc's are jumping up and down. Great buy

Informative and Actionable
Very strange and unexpected experience. The other day my Google Home woke me in the dark early morning by saying "the air quality on the third floor is very bad" (we have a finished attic space) It took me a while to realize that I'd need to open the Kidde App to figure it out. When I did, I saw that the Volatile Organic Compounds reading was nearly 3,000-- and that less than 500 was normal. I could also see a graph with the historical readings... and definitely over the last 12 hours they had shot up. I opened all the windows up there, and turned on the air circulation to make sure air went through the HEPA filters. Within a few hours, I watch the values drop back to normal. I never smelled a thing, but it was reacting to something. I had my seasonal servicing of my AC that week and found that my unit had leaked 3 lbs of refrigerant- a possible source of that reading (but I'll never know for sure). Only taking a point off because it took so long to tell me, waiting until middle of the night to alert me when it spiked before bedtime and stayed there.

Don’t buy these smoke detectors to many issues
Don’t buy these! I have used regular Kidde smoke detectors in the past and wanted to get ones that are hard wired and if something happens I would get alerted turn off alarm if there was a false alarm from my phone but these go off so often and a lot of times at the middle of the night for no reason no smoke these cause so much stress then they disconnect often at random. Sometimes it says they went off because of a non interconnected device and all I have are the “smart ones”. One of them went off more recently and it said too much smoke so it wouldn’t shut off so I had to unplug it and put it outside. Don’t recommend these. Bought these in 2024.

Works perfectly to keep me safe!
I ordered this to replace an old Kidde smoke detector that died. I wanted one that also had carbon monoxide detection and I was hoping to either get one where I don’t need to replace batteries, or it would take a 9V battery. I had issues in the past with AA batteries, and they would pop out. This was a breeze to connect, and no need for battery changing. I did have to change out the base to ensure it would fit, but screws went in the same holes and it was easy. I also love the fact that I can get the app on my phone and know what is happening if the detector would start the alarm.

Good Concept, But Needs Some Tweaks
I recently installed this smart smoke detector in my home, attracted by its advanced features. The integration with smart home systems is a plus, offering peace of mind with remote monitoring capabilities. However, I've experienced a few issues. The sensitivity of the detector is a bit high, leading to false alarms, especially when cooking. While the setup process was generally straightforward, I encountered occasional connectivity problems which required resets. The build quality is decent, but I expected more robustness for the price. It's a good step towards home safety, but I believe there's room for improvement in terms of reliability and user experience.

Someone returned home depot to amazon
Easy to set up and install. These were both used units. One was miss boxed because it was a wireless unit. The other one was boxed correctly but had a Home Depot tag on the package. These were not sealed. I got a replacement unit and again it was open and used.
