Sperry Charter Hook & Loop Boat Shoe (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid)

I bought these for my 7 year old son who attends Catholic school. He LOVES them! Although school just started 2 weeks ago, they are wearing nicely and he says that they are very comfortable throughout the day and during his morning and lunch recess. We've been purchasing the Sperry Top-Sider black "dressy" shoes with the same success and will continue to use these as our "shoe of choice."December 12, 2014 - It has been 4 months since we purchased this shoe - and my son wears them at least 3x/week and they're holding up beautifully! I'm really surprised to read the reviews that state that they're not durable because we have the opposite opinion. I may even take a photo and upload to show how nicely they're holding up. I had bought my son a pair of the black sperrys to wear for winter (they also hold up nicely - I had bought a smaller size that he wore last year and they lasted the entire school year until he just outgrew them) but he prefers the brown and says that these are more comfortable to wear. By far his favorite school shoe!

My son normally hates any kind of shoe that is sneakers or Crocs and it is a nightmare to find dressier styled shoes for him. He loved these shoes and was all too willing to wear them. I bought them for a summer wedding and they looked great with his khaki linen shorts suit. They are of wonderful quality and I know that they will hold up for a very long time and probably be a great hand me down pair of shoes. My order was also processed and shipped really really fast. I was very happy with this purchase!

I love these shoes for my son. They fit great, look nice with casual and dress outfits and because theyre leather, they last a long time. Just don't let your kid go slogging through mud puddles in these shoes, it eventually rots the stitching that binds the top together. My son did this to his last pair of shoes, and we had to stitch them back together. But that was after over a year of wear (I bought them a little big so they'd last a while). He was super excited to receive his new pair of Sperry shoes this Christmas!

this was one of those purchases where you feel that you have nothing else to do because you really need the item asap, I bought them because we are going to take our Christmas photo this week and the other pair of shoes I had bought for my son is now too small and I bought them just a month ago! anyway when the shoes arrived I was very disappointed because I trust the quality of amazon products, especially when it comes from them without intermediaries and they are new item!!!! The shoes are stretched and the left shoe right up front has a big spot like they are defective, the color and texture is not right on that left shoe.

My 8 year old is hard on his shoes, but this is a record for him. The shoes are a mess after just 8 weeks. They are stained, out of shape, coming apart at the seams... I bought him another pair or shoes, but he loves these because he says they are great for climbing. I'm conflicted as to whether to buy him another pair because the first one is absolutely disgusting, but I feel like it's a waste of money, knowing they will look like something I found at the bottom of the lake in just a few weeks...

We were happy to find Sperry top-siders for our 6 yr old with velcro instead of those bulky shoelaces that never stay tied. Unfortunately this shoe is quite a bit tighter in the front part of the shoe than his old Sperry laced top-siders were. We had to return the regular for a wide in order for it to be comfortable for him to wear. If your child still has those chunky kid's feet, you will probably want to order these in a wide too.

This Sperry Top Sider is Dark Brown with a "Velcro-type" belt that adjusts the fit perfectly. This pair is for Boys size, and can be put on quickly with the cross over adjustment tab. The sole of the shoe has great balance, it is thick, slip resistant and good quality leather which can scratch easily, so keep them clean with a good wax/polish cleanser and buff them. The wide fits well because it can be adjusted better to fit an individual's foot width. Sperry makes a quality shoe.

Although we can generally get our 6 year old in a medium width shoe of his measured size, our first attempt at that with this style of Sperry did not go well at all. Thanks to prime membership we were able to return them easily and go up a half size in a wide width which is nearly impossible to find in any stores locally. That did the trick. He is happy as a clam. No complaints about style or comfort.
