Awesome home quality laser engraver!
This review is for the ORTUR Laser Master 2 Pro with the supposedly 20 watt laser. This is a great home/hobbyist laser engraver! I regret not buying mine sooner. After much research, I decided to buy this as my first laser engraver. I also bought the Lightburn software to start with since most reviews recommended it. I built a plywood base and mounted the laser engraver to it to keep it square and allow me to set it up in my garage rather than my workshop. The item shipped quickly and arrived well packed. I was able to assemble it in two hours. Online videos of it being assembled were a big help. The engravings I have done on wood are amazing - excellent detail, crisp outlines, and fairly quick.Overall it was much better than I was expecting. Depending on the wood being engraved, it can produce a lot of smoke. Too much smoke will trigger the built in flame detector shutdown - this is probably a good thing. I run mine in the garage and don't have a problem with the smoke if I remember to open the door and run the fan. The engraver runs cool and does not burn my hand when i change the height of the head in between jobs.

High quality, great detail, but a little difficult to assemble
The Ortur Laser Master Pro 2 is a tremendous laser engraver and cutter that seems to be made out of high-quality components. One of the biggest standouts in my opinion is the large area you can engrave on. It’s a 400mm x 400mm square and that’s about from my foot to my knee which is plenty big for my hobby-level engraving.Putting the machine together was a little cumbersome by myself, but it’s doable. It took me about 45 minutes to do and definitely would’ve been easier having another set of hands to help me out. One thing I might recommend is to be thoughtful about how you tie the wire that connects to the laser itself. It doesn’t have a cable chain like the Y Axis does, so you’ll want to make sure that if it sags, it won’t get in the way of the gantry and the Y limit switch, or else it will error our mid-print.As far as the quality is concerned, for an entry-ish level engraver, I was shocked. When I saw the rendering of the image in the laser program, I was disappointed and thought there were going to be glaring gaps in the lines, but there wasn’t at all! The image is crisp and clear with plenty of detail. Using the varying power setting will allow the laser to do darker and lighter shades easily. One thing to remember is that it is burning things… so make sure you’re in a well-ventilated area.

Very nice, but........
This is a 5 star piece of equipment hampered by some of the worst documentation everSearch YouTube for assembly instructions, much, much betterWhen I git it assembled, I plugged it in to my Mac, using Lightburn, went through a simple setup procedure and it worked just fine, still does, You need software like Lightburn to really take advantage of this

Company Executives fleeing
I had this laser for 7 weeks and always having powering up problems. The power brick was bad, but because of the company being in collapse, technical personnel told me I'd be better of just buying one from Amazon because the technical and warranty support is currently NOT BEING SUPPORTED!Now, the laser focus is so out that it won't even cut thru a 1/8 inch basswood stock wood.It is now a useless piece of junk, LITERALLY UNUSABLE, with no way to have any dependable technical or warranty support.DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID. Buy a different brand.I'm sure they will be having to bear a class action law suit and things will not be getting better at Ortur.

Great addition to my crafting arsenal!
The media could not be loaded. The assembly wasn't that crazy, but it wasn't the simplest either. As long as you follow the directions, you'll be up and lasering within an hour for sure! The quality that I've gotten out of this laser has been fantastic! It is my first laser, but I've used others in the past. Right out of the box it was already better quality than any other diode I've used. I've only had it a month and have been able to do everything from picture engravings, custom phone stands, rubber stamps and even stainless steel card engraving. Love this laser and you can't beat the quality for the price!

Replacing my 4 year old laser
This machine came well packed. I recommend watching one or two of the assembly videos on the net. Assembly is a little more complex and requires attention. The laser recommends using LaserGRBL or Lightburn for software. I have tried both, purchased Lightburn. Both software packages work well but require a learning curve - this is not an out of the box and be up and running toy. The diode laser this replaces had its own elementary software - it did the job but left much to be desired. This diode laser has the power and ability to perform complex tasks under Lightburn. I have been etching slate with incredible result.

Very good support for a very good product
I chose this laser engraver after watching MANY reviews attesting to it's quality and ease of assembly and use. I had one hiccup - the air assist was not working but support was very responsive and sent me a new working one. And aside from the engraver, the air assist is also excellent. This is a value combo.

Great detailed laser images, easy to use, good value for beginners
Took a while to set up but once out together performed well. Using it for branding logos and monograms on charcuterie boards and coasters.
