Quiet and Lightweight 4800-Watt RV-Ready Portable Inverter Generator with Fuel Shut Off (56477i)

This generator has been a great purchase for my home. It provides reliable backup power during outages and runs smoothly without issues. The setup was simple, and the instructions were clear. I was impressed by how quickly it starts up and how much power it delivers — it easily handles my fridge, lights, and a few other essentials. It’s also not as loud as I expected, which is a big plus. The fuel efficiency is good, and the build feels durable and long-lasting.

Use it for the RV. Works great. Fairly quiet. Good on gas.

We just lost power for 9 days during the Palisades fire and this generator shipped the day after I ordered and came in literally 20-ish minutes before our power went out. I had a neighbor help set it up and looked very easy to do. I was able to easily start it by myself and run multiple extension cords to power essentials. We plugged wifi, tv, phone chargers, refrigerator, deep freezer, cappuccino machine, and air fryer. When using the kitchen appliances we would unplug the deep freezer or refrigerator to make sure we didn’t exceed wattage. Very easy to just unplug and plug what was needed in. This saved us! The only thing I wish we could have done was plugged our water heater in and some better lighting. We are now looking at the higher wattage as we are already looking at another power shutoff Monday. I have recommended this one to so many people already! 9 straight days of use from the moment we took it out of the box. I recommend getting 50+ feet for the cords and power strips to plug in multiple things via extension cords. It ran all night long without going off from gas usage. We got 3 2gallon gas cans and a 5 gallon and used a siphoning device for that to transfer gas. It would last 8 hours easy on a tank. Easy peasy! I started it multiple times no husband needed. A child could operate easily. Very user friendly. Highly recommend. Great price and it’s very lovely looking and quiet. The guys that helped set me up asked me for the link bc they couldn’t believe how well it worked and how quiet it was. Thanks for saving our lives this last week +! This little generator is the best value I have ever seen. The quality is exceptionally good, and it always starts on the first or second pull. The output of the inverter Meets or Exceeds the Rated Capacity for continuous as well as surge load. (I'm an electrical engineer, and generators are something of a hobby to me. I own a lot of them) This is Huge because a lot of other inverter generators do not come close to the rated output, or suffer Serious voltage drops when subjected to load spikes (like starting an air conditioner). These WEN units provide exceptional surge capability and excel at starting inductive loads like air conditioners (provided you have a soft-start installed). I have a pair of these 56477i units with manual start. They are so easy to start, I see the electric start option as overkill and something else that needs a battery to maintain. Two of these units (with my self-designed Phase Sync Box that creates 240v Split-Phase Power) run my Entire House, including the 4-Ton AC, a 1-Ton Mini-Split AC, Two Refrigerators, A Chest Freezer, and all lights and computers Simultaneously ! I just alternate which one of these I take on trips with my RV so they get even usage, and while at home the pair of them make a very portable 9600 Watt Whole-House Generator (for 1/3rd the cost). I also have four of the 2350 watt suitcase-style generators from WEN. (The 56235i models) I can also say that a pair of the 2350 units do exactly match the power and performance of the 4800. I also run my entire house exactly as stated above using FOUR of the 2350 units with my Phase-Sync Box. Here are a couple of pictures. All I can say is that these units provide exceptional bang for the buck. Keep the oil changed often as these little engines do not have oil filters, and keep fuel stabilizer in the gas.

I was unfamiliar with the Wen brand so was sceptical but the price was very good so I decided to purchase. I've been extremely satisfied with the purchase. I've got a couple hundred hours on the generator with zero issues. It's very quiet, especially for it's size. The plastic body is good quality. I had to put a high altitude kit on it which was easy to get from Wen directly and it was shipped promptly. The weight is manageable with the long telescoping handle and wheels. It's starts with a few pulls every time. The two things that kept me from a 5 star rating are the fuel level indicator which reads wrong sometimes. Also, the switch could be improved. The setting between choke and run is very "soft" and does not have a positive "click" when going from choke to run. Overall, I would purchase again and recommend.

Quiet and portable without too much trouble. It never fails like our old one did. Works well in high altitude.

I purchased this a year ago because some of the medication‘s that I take are stored in the refrigerator and are quite expensive. I got this as a backup so if the power goes out it can power the refrigerator. A medium sized freezer in the garage has done very well so far without any problems or issues just make sure to follow the instructions and do as they say, keep a check on the oil to make sure it’s at the proper level and make sure to start it once a month and do a generator test as recommended in the manual. It has started every time every month that a test has been done on it very very happy with my purchase very well built. The unit is quiet sturdy and runs very smoothly. highly recommend this unit and seems to be reasonably fuel efficient.

Arrived, brand new, and was inoperable. My generator showed up today. I followed the manual for setup, using the oil provided and brand new premium gas. The generator will start on "choke", but dies as soon as I try to switch the dial to "run". I tried letting it run awhile and it still died as soon as I move the dial. I've got a request in to their customer service. I'll update this review with any resolution. WEN customer service offered 2 options. They could send me a shipping label and I could send it back for them to send a new unit; or they had a couple of local small engine repair shops that handle their warranty work. As I had a camping trip coming in 5 days, I elected to take it to a shop. The shop had to pull and clean the carbs, and WEN refused to cover the charge, as it was a "gas related item." Again, this was a brand new unit, and I put brand new, premium, gas in it. I paid the $147 to get my generator back and emailed the customer service rep that I had spoken with over the phone. I was asked to send my order details, again, and the rep put in a claim to reimburse me for the repairs. I am told that the payment will be sent on 7/25/25. Ultimately, the matter will be resolved, but beware dealing with WEN customer service/warranty work and save all your documentation if you go with this company!
