Q: Does this product contain any chemicals, additives?

No, this product has non additives. Ok can add cold onto hot whilst cooking and rest assured that no taint will occur.

Q: What's the best way to light this charcoal in 6" Shichirin Hida Konro table top grill?

I find small tea light candle good placed under a chimney starter with a few pieces of coal in, then transfer to grill on other unlit pieces..

Q: How is it with a Kamado type grill?

I haven't used in a Kamado grill. All I can say these last a longtime once you get them lit, they get hot, but you can get other bricks that get hotter e.g heat bead or webber but don't last that long. These will easily get to 250 to 275 degrees c in my bullet smoker. I not used in a normal bbq either so don't know how hot they could get with a lot of air. These charcoals aren't covered in chemicals so can cook directly on them. I not tried that yet though. Need some fat steaks to try sometime!
