Acne Control Cleanser, Face Wash with 2% Salicylic Acid, 16 oz

I’ve been using CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser for over a year, usually twice a day, so I’ve had plenty of time to see how it performs on my skin. After trying different face washes over the years, this is honestly one of the best cleansers I have ever used, especially for controlling oil. My skin is very oily. With many cleansers, my face feels clean immediately after washing, but within a couple of hours the oil starts coming back. This cleanser has been completely different for me. After washing my face with it, I can usually go around 6–7 hours before I start noticing significant oil returning. That is probably the biggest reason I have continued buying and using it for more than a year. It leaves my face feeling very clean and much less greasy, but what impresses me most is that the oil control actually lasts for hours rather than just 20 or 30 minutes after washing. The texture is also nice and it spreads easily across wet skin. You don’t need a huge amount for each wash, so one bottle can last a reasonable amount of time. I also personally like the smell. It isn’t something I find unpleasant or overpowering. That being said, it hasn’t solved every skin concern I have. I still have blackheads, even after using this consistently for such a long time. I was hoping regular use would completely clear them, but that hasn’t happened for me. I still sometimes have to deal with the visible blackheads separately. So if you’re buying this specifically expecting all of your blackheads to disappear, I wouldn’t automatically expect that based on my experience. I’ve also noticed that sometimes my skin can feel or look a little bumpy/textured. I can’t say for certain that the cleanser itself is causing that because there are many things that can affect skin texture, but it’s something I’ve noticed while using it. Despite those negatives, the oil control is outstanding for my skin. That’s what keeps me coming back to this product. Finding something that can keep my naturally oily face from becoming shiny again for approximately 6–7 hours is difficult, and this has consistently worked better for me than the other cleansers I’ve tried. It hasn’t magically fixed every blackhead or every skin-texture issue, but nothing else I’ve personally used has controlled my oil this well for this long. After more than a year of using it morning and night, I think that’s a much better test than judging a skincare product after only a few uses. For someone with very oily skin like mine, this is absolutely a product I would recommend trying. For oil control specifically, this is the best face cleanser I’ve used in my life so far.

It leaves my skin feeling clean without making it feel too dry. I like that it contains 2% salicylic acid, and after using it regularly, my skin feels smoother and looks cleaner. The 16 oz bottle is also a good size and should last a long time. Overall, a good product for the price.

CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser I have been using this for a while now and I really like the way it leaves my skin feeling clean/fresh after use. 2% salicylic acid content — it's effective without being too stringent, which is nice for blemishes and excess oil. Another reason I enjoy it is that it has niacinamide and ceramides which make the cleanser feel more gentle and comfortable. Because it's unscented it does not have a strong odor, which I like. There is enough of it that a little goes quite a long way, and the texture itself is nice. So nothing fancy, just a nice little cleanser that I highly recommend for using every day.

This was on the list my dermatologist gave me to fight teenage breakouts. I have sensitive skin so it’s great! You’ll be glad to know my many breakouts have gone to almost none. This definitely was not the only product, I was also on subscriptions, but considering a doctor told me to use it I would recommend it for anyone trying to deal with acne! Remember it takes three months to actually decide if a product worked on your skin😭. Don’t throw it away if it doesn’t magically cure you. This is a product I’d say works very well, foamy when you mix it in so it’s gentle and non irritating. No fragrance, and good for my oily and dry skin. I use it at night and use the cera ve acne foaming cream cleanser in the mornings. The picture is how clear my skin is after using it for two years (my subscriptions might’ve changed but the cleansers didn’t so they must really work since my dermatologist was so confident!)

This effectively controls my adult acne alone and I was able to drop the Tretinoin I had been using. My sensitive skin is happier with fewer products and I love that it is fragrance free. I don't find it too drying, even though my skin is not oily. I started out using CeraVe's Renewing SA Cleanser and had a feeling the salicylic acid was helping and then switched to CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser for the 2% salicylic acid. I have rosacea and it means a lot to break the cycle of lingering red blemishes. To get the most out of the salicylic acid, I later and let it sit on the skin for a minute or so.

This is the only face wash my son will use now! Before we found this one, we were constantly trying different brands and switching from one to another. Since discovering CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser, he has actually stuck with it. It helps keep his face clear without leaving his skin overly dry or irritated. Finding a product that works well and that my son will consistently use is a win in my book!
