My Dad recently purchased this product for me. Manufactured by brand ‘Cadbury’ under its ‘Dairy Milk’ ‘Silk’ range of products, it is ‘Ganache’ bar. Apparently launched in celebration of ‘World Chocolate Day’ on July 7, 2023: the bar is categorized as ‘blended chocolate’. It is composed of sugar, cocoa solids, cocoa butter, milk solids (15%), emulsifier (322), and flavour (nature identical flavouring substances). The list of ingredients further indicates the presence of milk and soy, and the possible presence of tree nuts, wheat, and barley. The bar is pre-divided into a total of 12 squares, each bearing the ‘S’ logo part of the relatively newer packaging of ‘Silk’ products under brand ‘Cadbury’. It seems as if the squares are filled and ‘moulded’ onto a chocolate slab. This aspect contributes to a ‘thickness’ felt when consuming each of the square(s), thereby satiating one’s sweet cravings. While the square(s) can be chewed as the case with most chocolate-based food products, in my humble opinion, this bar, in particular, should be ‘savoured’. ‘Ganache’ is a homogenized mixture of molten chocolate and cream, often incorporated into desserts for lending a ‘deep’ and rich chocolatey feel. The true ‘ganache’ experience as promised on the packaging is delivered on, when a square is laid atop one’s tongue and allowed to melt. The resulting chocolatey mouthfeel and lingering aftertaste is worth the effort undertaken. The chocolate cannot be solely described as milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or plain chocolate in terms of flavour. It is not ‘bittersweet’ chocolate or ‘semi-sweet’ chocolate either. It has no ‘fruity’ undertones to it. The chocolate comes across as just short of being a ‘replica’ of the brand’s ‘Dark Milk’ chocolate in ‘Original’ variant, and with the inclusion of ‘ganache’ component. It does ‘stand out’ when compared with other ‘Silk’ products. The packaging states that the bar should not be stored above temperature of 25 degree celsius. The bar is quite prone to melting at high temperatures, and must be stored appropriately prior to consumption. Overall, this product is worth the purchase.

I buy a lot of Cadbury chocolates. This was disappointing. The sweetness and flavour didn’t match up to other Cadbury chocolates like silk, plain, etc.
