This tempered glass Baker is perfect for brewing tea for four people. It is really fragile, so a small microfiber cloth, included, may be folded in half so it doesn't break when sitting it on a stone countertop.

I use it for making ionic silver so the lid is handy. I drilled two small holes in it and inserted electrical connectors so the silver rods won't touch the lid.

There's some cloth in the box...sort of freaks me out.. why is in there? Was this a return and they wiped it down and left the cloth in the box? There is no mention of it in description or on box. Otherwise, the product seems great..heats water well in microwave (for tea) and the handle stays cool. I love it.

I bought this device mainly to heat water to brew bulk peppermint tea. Our microwave is above our stove so it is near face level, pretty high and awkward to remove a really hot heavy thick glass 4 cup measuring cup full of near boiling water. This 4 cup measuring cup solves that issue.We don't use this 4 cup measuring cup on our smooth top stove to heat anything though I presume we could by why risk it? This device can get dangerous to shatter above 300F. Medium on our stove reaches over 400F, I measured it with my temperature reading Lazer gun so not a guess.Why in the world do so many people insist on putting everything in the dishwasher. Certainly, people wouldn't wash their really nice glassware in one.The only fault I have is the markings are silver, they should be red. The markings are not important to us because we always fill it. We have one of these for two cups to take care of measuring less liquid.The bamboo lid is a nice touch but frankly, we will never use it, it's rather useless because the pour hole is still open so some liquid can still spill out. Plastic wrap can take the place of many missing lids.Final note, amazingly, after heating 4 cups of water for 7 minutes in the microwave, the handle is not too hot to remove the cup of water from the microwave, if you do it promptly that is.
