BAOFENG UV-5R Two Way Radio Handheld Ham Radio Dual Band Walkie Talkie

We purchased these walkie-talkies specifically for our upcoming cruise with the intention of staying connected with our kids. Unlike previous walkie-talkies we've owned, these ones truly exceeded our expectations. Initially, we were a bit unsure of how they worked, but after just a day of tinkering with them, we quickly grasped their functionality. The fact that they are waterproof is a game-changer for us, especially with kids who adore water activities; knowing that a little splash won't harm the device gives us peace of mind. Moreover, the long-distance capabilities are impressive – being on the 15th floor while our kids are on the 3rd floor was no issue at all, as the connection remained strong. The battery life is also commendable, lasting well over two days without needing a recharge. This feature proved to be incredibly practical for us, allowing us to use the walkie-talkies throughout the day and effortlessly recharge them overnight, ensuring we never experienced any communication downtime. All in all, the walkie-talkies have truly been a fantastic addition to our cruise preparations, offering reliability, durability, and convenience that perfectly cater to our family's needs.

Great product. A birthday gift for my grandson.

These are a tried and true product and you can't go wrong. I purchased these for my production company so that we can all effectively communicate. And they sound great and get good clarity and even better range. We use these in two way mode, and can easily get 3 to 5 miles of range, batteries will go all day. The included earset fits well and works fine, it's not the highest quality but it certainly does the job.

Good radio and can last for years. It’s good for the price with decent battery life and is remarkably portable.

so.. we did not have high expectations for these walkies, we bought them at first to talk in a caravan, as we'd be close range enough to be effective, but we decided to test the limits. My in laws stayed behind in a cabin in lake arrowhead and some others of us decided to go hiking in the mountains about 15 -20 minutes away. We left a walkie with them and we took the other. We were intermittently testing them based off the height ranges and mountain clearances, and surprisingly, they reached through the mountains every time, except of course when you had a massive boulder wall in front of you. These walkies definitely surprised us. Great value , the instructions are basic and easy to set up. The quality feels initially cheap in comparison to other walkies we've tested, but is not cheap at all when it performs. I would buy again.

Got decent range with a buddy, just make sure you know what channels you are on.

These are amazing. Mine (Uv5r 5watts) came unlocked with all possible frequencies available. The extra long optional antenna is well worth the extra few $. Be very careful with the programing software you MUST set the min max in settings (136-174 / 400-520 MHz) or you will loose transmit (took me a full day to figure that out.). I now have a marine radio backup also by programming the correct frequencies to the channels numbers... Also possible to create a somewhat semiprivate channel (we use that on the hard).

It quality communications for the price.

Estan bueno pero solo tiene 1 km de distancia me gustaría que hubiera opciones para antena de esta misma compañia

Buenas relación calidad precio, un poco complicado de usar para los que no sabemos nada de este tema pero no tanto como para no poder entender

apesar de que lo tuve que devolver porque uno vino fallado y realice la compra nuevamente son de excelente calidad y funcionan muy bien y tienen muy buen alcance y se escuchan claros y se ven robustos.
