Nova Rico Emily Freestanding Illuminated Hardwood Globe - 50 cm

I found the following with my globe.Very nice item, but I did not like the 3 items I found with it.*You need to wear gloves and be careful as the wood scratches easily.*Where the Globe is attached to the wood by a little bracket, the attaching screws had to be shortened by 3mm to allow the screws to fit flush with the outside.*A bracket or handle is needed in order to Move it about, otherwise you have to Grab it Somewhere in order to move it.*After two days with my globe a further cause for concern has manifested itself.Young children cannot be allowed to use it without supervision, and it could be used by the manufacturer to refute any claim for a faulty item under a non-supervision clause.The Globe & Apparatus is held by One Small bolt to the frame, the act of turning the globe on its axis also moves the Whole top around on the base, unless it is screwed down very tightly.If the item is then grabbed by the apparatus and moved 'unless on a smooth surface' the bolt holding the top to the base again works loose.There is the danger that the little bold will become loose in the thread and will no longer hold the top down firmly, or the act of screwing it down tightly will actually split the wood.

Brilliant - in more ways than one!

This globe is a present for my disabled son's 21st birthday in November 2017 therefore I have only looked at it. However, it looks great and I am sure he will love it. I wanted him to be able to see all the places in the world he has visited and where they are in relation to the UK. This globe (being so big) does just that hence my 5 star rating. Thank you Amazon.
