It worth spending the money. The cheaper grinding wheels are just not worth it and it take a decent grinding wheel like this to illustrate this.

Sharpening wood turning tools

Just what it says on the box. I had to balance it because it was vibrating some when it installed it. It was not too bad just a wee bit

I received my disc which had obviously been used before as it had patches of brown all over. It was dusty and the edges were chipped

Bought two of these to sharpen my wood lathe tools however after fitting one wheel wobbles veryBadly causing severe vibration. and the other one had a slight wobbleSo both products were returned and I decided to buy elsewhere

I'm using this mounted on my lathe when I need to sharpen my wood lathe tools. I run the lathe at 200-300 rpm and use a tool rest to guide the chisel. Works so much better than when using it on a standard bench grinder at much higher rpm. I sharpen all my chisels at once, then take this wheel off and mount my project on the lathe.

Used on my Genesis 8" bench grinder. They're balanced and didn't require anything to be balanced. The 5/8" arbor hole was a bit small and I had to force them on, but they're true and working great.

I bought this wheel for grinding my wood lathe tools. My grinder had a 80 grit and 36 grit wheels. I wanted a better finish on my tools. This wheel does a great job with a decent finish. At 100 grit it cuts the high speed steel tools very fast, so now I plan on getting another one at a finer grit and using the 100 grit as my roughing wheel. Great product!
