Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Body Oil, Chill Pill - Body Moisturizer with Relaxing Essential Oils for Daily Skin Care and Aromatic Indulgence | 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)

received this oil about a week ago and have used it 5-6 times since. so far, i am very satisfied with the product! i had read of the healing properties of tamanu oil and decided to incorporate it into my skincare regimen to heal some stubborn acne spots / discoloration. i've been using it as a post-cleansing moisturizer, taking a few drops and applying it to my entire face (excluding my eyelids as i had heard it can be irritating to that sensitive skin) before bedtime. i take an extra drop and rub it directly on blemishes as an extra spot treatment. it is a thicker oil, but absorbs quickly and does not feel sticky or greasy, as compared to oils. this tamanu oil is a greenish hue, but i don't find that it discolors my face or gives it a yellow tone once it's absorbed. tamanu oil can be drying to people with sensitive skin, but i don't consider my skin to be very sensitive and have had no issues with over-drying. it does have a strong, unusual smell which i wasn't crazy about on initial application, but i have since gotten used to. i would describe the smell as nutty (imagine smelling a container of brazil nuts) but that is to be expected considering this oil is extracted from tree seeds/nuts. in the past week, i've noticed a more even skin tone and that one stubborn acne spot looks like it is healing. on another note, i had a small blemish pop up (not related to the oil) which i had gently popped (this is terrible, i know! i do not recommend anyone pop pimples or blemishes!) but i did and to try to atone for my sins, i put a drop of tamanu oil right on the spot afterwards. the next day, i was AMAZED to find that the blemish had almost completely dried up and left no discolored mark (and blemished usually do a number on my skin.) some may find it to be expensive for just 1 ounce, but i don't compared to other skincare products and oils - plus a little goes a long way. the past two nights i've been combining it with my sweet bee magic salve (which i also ordered from amazon and LOVE) to help absorption, and it makes my face feel so great the next day. i will definitely continue to use this oil for it's healing properties.

Tamanu oil is SO underrated. Whenever I have zit or any sort of break out this oil moisturizes but also “dries” out the zit itself. Absolutely fascinating product. Apparently some people use it heal BURNS. Doesn’t smell the greatest, but it does wonders for my skin.

Excellent carrier Oil for the face

This oil saved my life. I had skin abrasions from scratching & tried a dozen different products for months, yet found little or no relief. Desperate for ANYTHING new to try, because the pain had awakened me from my sleep, I rummaged through my bathroom drawers and found a new bottle of Apricot Kernel oil. I figured it couldn’t be worse and was worth trying. I don’t remember why I bought it in the first place. It was the middle of the night, and as I mentioned, I was desperate. MIRACULOUSLY, it soothed my skin. After just a few minutes, I could tell that it was having a calming effect on that area. Unbelievably, it allowed me to fall back to sleep. In the morning, I began searching for information about this Apricot kernel oil. It is worth reading about all the benefits found in this product. Simply put, it has many healing properties all on its own. I have also replaced my coconut carrier oil and now use this in my Essential oil recipes. It’s a bit thicker; 2nd in absorption rate to coconut oil, I read. Sometimes, I mix the two. Now I use it morning and night and it prevents my thin skin from getting too irritated. It’s great!

I initially purchased this oil to use on my hair. Because grapeseed oil has a very high smoking point, it is a great natural heat protectant for the hair, which is mainly what I use it for. I also use it to seal moisture into my hair after moisturizing. It is amazing when used for this purpose because it is very thin and light, leaves no oily residue, and leaves a nice, shiny finish on the hair. However, I have recently discovered that this oil is amazing on the skin, as well. After washing my face and applying toner, I apply this grapeseed oil as facial moisturizer. It absorbs very quickly into the skin and never leaves the skin looking and feeling oily. Grapeseed oil contains anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and acne-fighting properties, so despite the fact that it is an oil, which would make many people apprehensive about applying it to the face, it is actually an amazing product for the face. What's even better is that this particular brand of grapeseed oil also contains Vitamin E, which also has anti-aging properties. Please note that in the case of both hair and skin application, a little goes a looong way! On that note, I should discuss why I have rated this product four stars instead of five. The oil itself is amazing, but the packaging it comes in does not allow you to dispense the oil at your own discretion. The cap contains a seal through which the oil is released when you squeeze the bottle. No matter how gently you squeeze the bottle, a nickel-sized amount of oil (or more, if you squeeze harder) always comes spurting out. This forces me to dispense more oil than I need, which is a waste. I will have to start unscrewing the cap to dispense the oil, which annoying, but it's better than wasting the oil. Overall, though, I love this oil and will likely continue to purchase it. *Sidenote: If you're looking for 100% pure grapeseed oil, the Aura Cacia Natural Skin Care Oil brand technically does not fit this description, since Vitamin E has been added to it*

Delightful smell

I use a lot of Aura Cacia's apricot kernel oil- It has a really nice texture to it, a little more silky than almond oil. I use it to moisturize my skin and hair- it doesn't have much of a scent at all, so I like to add essential oils sometimes. One thing that works really well is to put the oil on your skin when you're still damp from the shower (or even while you're still in the shower, after using soap). As long as you don't use too much, it's a nice, light moisturizer that won't cause irritation. Since I started using oils, I've gotten compliments on my soft skin. Oils like this one are also really great for shaving if you have sensitive skin. I don't put this on my face, though, so no advice as to whether this would cause a breakout. I've read that apricot kernel oil isn't prone to causing breakouts, though.

I have always bought Chill Pill by Aura Cacia (been using it for 10 years or more) in essential oil form but this was my first time buying it as a moisturizing body oil. I'll use it and probably finish it in a month or two but for the size of the bottle and the amount of scent I experienced (not enough, for sure) in this formulation, and the resultant cost/benefit factor, I would not buy it again. I'll make my own with the OG essential oil and some almond or jojoba oil of my own.

The product has been amazing.Initially i was reluctant to buy bcoz of steep price and doubted if could cause me more acne.But this has done wonders.The pigmentation reduced within 5 days of use and it had been 20 days since i started using it.I feel a little improvement in my pitted scars too.May be with continued use it might help that too.This s worth every rupee spent.

Love this skin care oil for post needling or bedtime routine as quite thick. Not perfumed or any nasty chemicals. Quality organic ingredients.

This product works! I watched about the effects of Tamanu Oil in some YouTube video and wanted to give this a shot, and it actually is effective at visibly fading acne scars. Very happy about it and buying more bottles for my family too. I am putting it on only night time as it is oily (duh.. haha) and doesn't do well under make up.

Lo uso insieme alla crema idratante notte e l'olio Sea Buckthorn seed, 3 goccie di ogni olio e una nocciolina di crema. Io avevo la pelle mista, la zona T era molto grassa e avevo paura di usare olio nel viso se per caso m'ingrassava di piú; dopo avermi stra consigliato tante volte di provare mi sono decisa e non torno indietro. Da che li uso ho la pelle molto idratata, luminosa e l'acne che avevo mi è sparito nel giro di un mese, la mia zona T non è molto meno grassa di prima. Dicono che questa combinazione di olio aiuti anche con le macchie. Continuerò a usarli e vediamo.

I've always only ever purchased this brand, but used to have to order from iherb in America and wait, SO glad it was on amazon, needed it urgently. So so good for nasty spots and stubborn scars. Great quality and authentic smell (nutty/spicey).
