As described. I use these to grow roses. It takes about 30 days to grow roots. This is one of the best options because it is clean and simple to avoid any infection. Despite not having a lot of nitriention, the rose branch does not need a lot of fertilizer to grow roots, so this is a perfect fit.

I find the product to be what I expected. I ordered 1/4 inch soft. Particles look to be between 1/3 and 1/4 inch. I did not find the material to be especially dusty. I did rinse dust off before use. I only got a 10 pound bag. Nothing leaked from the clear plastic bag it was in. The cardboard box seemed a little flimsy, but it did not break open. I was surprised to find it so cheaply packaged, but I would not want to pay more for fancy packaging. My only complaint is that I don't seem to have received a full 10 pounds. Since others have complained, I am wondering if it is packed by volume, not weight. My bag was 9.8 pounds. I intend to root cuttings in it and use it in mixing potting soil. An 18 pound bag would have been a better value and is the size I will get if I buy again.

Price per lb was competitive and product received is as advertised in listing. I got the 1/8" variety but if I had to do it again I'd grab the 1/4" for the purpose I have, which is a gritty soil mix. Aesthetics is the reasoning my I'd go 1/4" next time. Either size will work for my purpose but 1/4" visually looks closer in size to the other ingredients going into my gritty mix.

It arrived a day earlier then expected. Soil is nice and fine, it's perfect size for smaller size bonsai. I make my own soils depending on what specific trees. My sagebrush in the photo really enjoys it. Thank you, i would highly buy again in the future.

Other than packaging, it is exactly what I ordered...I just wish the bag was better for storing......its like in a big fruit bag from the stores, ya know like the ones that are cheap, a lot of The akadama is in the shipping box, I need to get a plastic or glass container to store it in!!! Over all the product it's self is amazing!!
