Ultra compact professional subs
Using a pair of these with two Spendor S3/5 on top of desk sounds exceptional.Powered by 100 watt tube Rogue Cronus Magnum II.Set up with Sonex behind on wall.Spendors love being jammed into wall as they are made for monitoring in an on site recording "trailer" as per BBC specifications and the wall is part of the sound.I have subs rocked upward on foam pads about 15 degrees to aim at ears.Spendors are sitting on top rocked downward on foam pads so all the sound converges at ears.Continuously variable phase control is a must have thank goodness. My sub is set at almost 180 out of phase but not quite. This extended the depth of the bass and made it one with the Spendors. My main system listening room as a reference tells me this little desktop set is correct.Spatial information is in all the correct spots. If you stick you head inside the soundfield you can "approach" the individual instruments on either side of the field.it is like a huge uncongested pair of headphones.Except the soundfield can be "out in front" if you lean back in your chair. These subs are totally non boomy.I did have to use an exceptionally well made pair of interconnects to rid the last tiny vestige of hum from my system. The incredibly compact size really allows for desktop subs mating perfectly with my monitors.I now have a laboratory for fine tuning phono carts and getting into computer audio in the lab.Thank you whoever put these on sale. They are a steal and have a quality sound unrelated to their deeply discounted price.

It’s easy to connect and use
Subwoofer works as advertised. It’s easy to connect and use. I’m using it for now mainly for music. It works great. It makes the Bose 301s speakers sound great. You can feel the music even more. The bass is tight.

"Movie" differences
I want to add some information for potential buyers. This sub woofer and the MK V8 are not exactly the same product. I ordered it thinking that it was however: this V8 "Movie" has exactly the same driver, amplifier, and specs, size, power etc. The only difference is that this has a more budget enclosure. It's a real MK product. It ships with white gloves and is still luxurious, it's just not the same as the V8.I've had it connected alongside some JBL LSR-305 Studio monitors on my PC. So far so good! For the price paid I do not think there is anything better out there for my intentions. It's a sealed sub and really does have some tight punchy bass. Kickdrums have real impact and there is no slop like in ported subs. It's very small also which was one reason I picked it. It has RCA in and out so hooking up from my DAC to my studio monitors was a breeze. Variable 0 to 180 degree phase control really helped me fine tune the sound.Update, tried this sub in my 2.1 stereo system with an Onkyo integrated amplifier and Polk LSi7 Bookshelf speakers. It sounds even better there. This sub should be renamed V8 Music. This is my first sealed subwoofer and it sounds different and better than any ported I've tried. If I have one criticism it is that the crossover roll-off is not very steep. I have to set it at around 70 hz for it to blend in well. Despite being so small and only 8" the 30 Hz at -2 db is real.
