I love these headphones! I do a lot of hiking and gym workouts, so I want headphones that stay put and don't irritate me when moving about. I've tried all sorts and these are by far the best overall solution. Once on, you almost forget they're there. They are so comfortable. I hate the ear-bud style because they create a horrible banging sound in my head when I'm walking or running, and they inevitably create unwelcome heat and pressure in the ear canal.The bone conduction technology is superb because it lets you listen to your stuff while still being able to hear normal ambient sounds. It might seem an odd idea, but I was surprised how effective it was. Yes, you do struggle to hear your sounds when next to a main road, but for most other times, it's perfectly fine. These headphones will not block out other sounds, so don't get them if that's important to you. But they're not designed for that purpose anyway. They provide a great compromise to those wanting good sound with great comfort while still being able to hear enough ambient sounds (great for running outdoors as you can still hear cars, etc).The build quality is excellent. I've had these over a year and they're as good as new, and I've used them almost every day outdoors or in the gym.The battery is rated for 6 hours. I've never had to test that but I'm often out walking for 2-3 hours and have never run out of battery. If you're bothered, take a small power bank with you.

So just a quick review, these are basically like little speakers for your ears- okay so that's like ear buds but these work way better. Nothing, gets in the way of your hearing, and the sound is about the level of a really nice pair of ear buds. Ones you have to pay for, not the ones that come with your phone, even better then the apple ones everyone likes.Still riding on a bike, with the wind blowing in your face, you aren't going to get much bass, but you do get very clear voice, and detailed mid range and highs. The bass comes from the bone conduction, and the rest comes from the speaker elements. You do get more sound into your ears via the bone conduction, and things don't start sounding harsh as quickly as with ear buds when you crank the volume up. These also don't have the issue of even more wind noise like most headphones that sit on your ears, since the elements are forward from your ears, so it's just the same amount of wind noise as riding without anything in your ears.Comfort is great, very light, well balanced, even if you have a helmet slightly bumping into them it doesn't feel like that effects the comfort. I also wear glasses, and sunglasses on top of glasses and these I can wear under all that. Normally I am very picky about having extra weight and bulk on top of my ears but these work for 2 hour bike rides.I also got these with the hopes that I can wear them during the winter, havn't tried extended periods yet, but at least 15 minutes of organizing a walk in freezer worked great, wearing my usual tube scarf and beanie that I use during winter bike rides. The reason these will actually work, whereas other solutions won't is that in the -20 celcius winters I get here in finland, if you have anything remotely close to your ear holes, you will instantly feel whatever is in your ears get cold and painful. These sit next to your cheeks, and while I'm not 100% certain yet, I feel that these shouldn't get any worse then how cold the metal frames of my glasses get near my ears while cycling during a windy cold day. Maybe I'll only get to use these up to a max of -5 like my freezer test, but that's way more cold then I could ever endure with anything being stuck in my ears even in the fall at +5 celcius.

I must admit at the price I was sceptical, however after picking them up on a Black Friday deal and saving nearly £50 I was swung to buy them and give them a try.I have to say after wearing them now on a almost daily basis I wouldn't go back to in-earphones, these don't cancel out background noise but they aren't supposed to and if you want noise cancellation earphones buy B&O or another make.These are designed for walkers, runners and or cyclists to wear and listen to music and still hear background noises to allow them to be aware of what is happening around them. At first they feel a little strange and takes few sessions to get used to but then after that they feel completely natural.The sound is excellent, good range on the volume, the bass is basically your head so if you want heavy bass dont get these, they do not by any means sound tinny but the bass is limited.The only gripes I have are that the on/off (Volume up) button can be fiddly to find and press when on your head, that being said once you use them a number of times it becomes second nature.So would I recommend them, if you walk, run or cycle I would say they are a must, are they worth the money? Yes and on reflection I would pay full price (£145) for them.

I've tried to find headphones for running for a long time and I think these are a great compromise between sound quality, safety (hearing the enviroment around you), and ability of the headphones to be comfortable and not fall off/out of the ears.That last aspect is what has bothered me most about a lot of in-ear headphones for running. When running quickly they do have a tendency to sneak out of the ear or fall out completely. These sit very comfortably and I almost forget they are there, so this makes them great for outdoor running.The novel aspect about these headphones are the bone conduction aspect. I was slightly apprehensive about this regarding sound quality; I have to admit when I first put them on I was slightly disappointed. However the more I use them and with changing the eq-settings I think they are definitely good enough for running sound quality. They are definitely not as good as a standard in-ear headphone for sound quality but for me, perfect for running. Finally, the safety aspect of hearing bicycles coming up from behind is very useful when running in busier areas.Overall, very happy with the purchase and would recommend for others who are seeking a comfortable headphone to run with, where sound quality is not amazing but good enough for sure. Will continue to be my running gear of choice.

Firstly, those who are looking for premium level sound, you're in the wrong place. These are a) Bluetooth, and b) bone conduction devices. Neither of these features lends itself to replicating studio sound.So for those with realistic expectations about the sound, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The quality is as good as many in-ear sports headphones yet you have the added bonus of retaining audible awareness. If you're inside (say in a gym or on a train) and want to block out background noise, the supplied ear-plugs are pretty handy for that. They are allowed for use in road races which is one of the main reasons open ear headphones have become so popular lately. I enjoy music and audio books during the hours of slogging through a marathon or even the 40 minutes I cycle to work. I feel safe with these, knowing that I can hear traffic and people.The Air feel lighter and much more comfortable than my old Treks Titanium and the supplied not bag is of a much better quality.This is my third pair of Aftershokz and the quality improves each time. They are pricey and I can't say with conviction that the extra £50 for the Air is good value over the Titanium. That's about 33% more expensive... I don't think you get 33% more 'value' from these. That said, I do love them and don't regret the purchase.

Brilliant for all I need. Lightweight, great for chatting on phone or listening to music on the go. Secure and no slipping off on long rides. Easy control. 6h battery life good for all I need. There is a buzzing feeling at maximum volume but I rarely need it. The wind in your ears as you go faster will drown out some quiet music but if like me you need a beat to get going then these will work fine. Also used them (with earplugs, mask and goggles) while using electric sander, perfect!It feels very strange to hear birds singing in the hedgerows alongside the music at first.I never thought I’d spend this much on a headphone and was very concerned about whether I should go for the other versions. Glad I didn’t. Superb.

Really good build and sound quality, very comfortable, superb battery life (easily get through a day). These have changed my life. I bought them just for running, but it turns out they have become a pretty much permanently attached to me, because I can listen to music all the time whilst still interacting with others (unlike regular headphones). I am very motivated by music, so this helps me with work, study, competition and everything in between. The sound quality really surprised me - it's a strange experience being able to hear headphones so clearly whilst still being able to talk and listen. They are very well made, seem quite robust. They are so comfortable, I sometimes forget they are there. They stay in place during running without an issue (and I wear glasses). I love these and can't recommend them enough. They also work very well for hands-free calling. I was quite sceptical before I purchased, because I had previously bought "AfterShokz AS600 Trekz Titanium" - which were utterly rubbish compared to these (I did get a full refund though). In my star ratings, I have rated "noise cancellation" at only two stars - simply because this sort of headphones could not have noise cancellation (impossible - they are not covering your ears!). Sound quality is FANTASTIC for bone conduction, but of course could never compare to full cup headphones and it's an unfair comparison. As for battery life, I have no idea how they manage to make these keep going for so long given the tiny battery.

I bought these to use with a pedestrian GPS app for the blind on my iPhone. They do the job okay, but for the price, I'm pretty underwhelmed I have to say. When you consider the quality of headphone you can get for this kind of money, these aren't great. With music you don't notice it so much, but with TTS voices, you can really tell how the audio is not quite as crisp as normal earphones – and it's not just the bone conduction factor. If you bought a bog standard pair of wired headphones with this kind of sound quality, you'd pay less than 20 quid. So we're paying over a hundred pounds for Bluetooth and bone conduction technology. I'll have to see how long they last to comment on whether or not we're paying for build-quality too. Cheap earphones usually last less than 12 months with heavy usage, so we'll see.Also, Microsoft's Soundscape has 3D audio, and it just doesn't work at all with these headphones. There's stereo panning on the voice announcements, but the 3D effect on the beacon doesn't work at all, it just sounds completely mono. Another issue for me is the fact that they always seem to want to sit naturally on my cheekbones so that the audio is slightly shifted to the right. Just the slightest movement will affect the balance. I thought they were faulty at first, but if I place the transducers directly over my ears, the balance is fine, it's just the way they sit. Again, this isn't as noticeable with music as it is with a single human voice dead-centred. I don't know if it's the shape of my head, or the shape of the phones, but they don't sit right by default. Also the bone-conduction sound is easily drowned out in traffic, so you have to have it blasting to hear it at all, then you need to turn it back down for quieter periods.ON the plus-side, they're very comfortable and do the job as regards allowing you to hear everything around you clearly, and the answering calls function seems to work okay. They're an acceptable compromise to in-ear phones, but I do think they're obscenely over-priced. I've tried the Aftershokz that are a third of the cost, and they are a complete audio disgrace, so I had to pay way over the odds just to get something reasonable.*** update ***Having had these a few months now, I'd just like to add to my original opinion because I wouldn't want anyone to not try these based on my review. I'm actually pretty happy with them. I use them all the time, and not just for GPS. Since the weather's been fine, I've really been enjoying having wireless headphones that let you hear the world around you while listening to an audiobook or radio, or just reading an ibook with TTS. They're super comfy once your brain gets used to them; you don't even know you have them on.I haven't changed my mind about the price versus audio quality being a bit unbalanced, but they're not that bad, and the other qualities such as lightweight, comfy and convenient make them just about worth it. I'm glad I bought them. So if you can afford this kind of money for headphones, give them a shot.

Un casque parfait pour la pretique du sport, le son est très bon et on ne se sent pas coupé du monde, c'est un vrai plus en matière de sécurité (on peut entendre les vélos et les voiture arriver), mais aussi en terme d'ambiance pour pouvoir entendre autour de soi pendant une course en compétition ou juste profiter des bruits de la nature...Vendu avec une paire de bouchons d'oreille, ce casque permet aussi une excellente écoute dans les lieux bruyants (avion, train), les oreilles ainsi bouchées tous les sons ambiants disparaissent et l'on entend plus alors que le son de la conduction osseuse, un vrai bonheur !S'ajoute à cela un excellent service après vente, mon casque a rencontré un souci après six mois d'utilisation et le problème a été réglé en a peine 4 jours !Bref, je recommande vivement !

I've been using the AfterShokz Trekz Air since receiving it on Tuesday afternoon (ordered Sunday through Prime - kudos).I'd been reading about bone conduction headphones for some time now but was waiting to more reviews and a sale at under AU$200 (RRP AU$240). Most reviews from various forums will list a number of the AfterShoks brand, which was positive in my books and led to my decision. I eventually spent $50 extra to go for the Air instead of its predecessor, the Titanium due to it's weight/size and a few updates/improvements according to other reviewers.The Airs have performed to my expectations:- Clear audio (including voice calls)- Great for podcasts- Acceptable for music (not designed for it)- Lightweight- Band feels durable (too soon to tell)- Strong bluetooth connection (compared to my Shure Bluetooth SE-112)- High volume without audio breaking- Comfortable fitCons:- Band is semi-stiff so it's not comfortable in certain positions (eg laying in bed)- Significant vibration testing at high volume (caused a bit of nausea after 5 minutes)- Device turned off after 2 or 3 warnings for low battery (approximately after 20 minutes; Shures last about 40 minutes)Bone conduction headphones are designed to be aware of a person's surroundings yet being able to enjoy ambient audio. Accordingly, as all other reviewers have reported, do not expect music audio (especially bass reproduction) to be in the same league as On/Over-Ear or In-Ear headphones and earphones - IT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR THAT PURPOSE.I work in an open office and my position requires me to talk with my colleagues throughout the day. When I need to focus for a project, I use my earphones or headphones (Shure, Bose, Sennheiser, Bluedio etc - I have purchased a few of each brand over the years) where I can enjoy better sound reproduction for music and silence my surroundings.Overall, I am continually amazed at bone conduction technology and have enjoyed the AfterShokz Trekz Air thoroughly. It is a specific use headphone that I will be enjoying for the office, light gardening, jogging and cycling (to be tested).Per my headline, this and my Shures will be my daily "Go-To" audio devices.

I own a pair of iPods, and while I like them they do not have the battery life I need. I am a distance runner, and a slow one at that. So I do occasionally have training runs that get up to around 4 hours. So I got on Amazon to look for some bluetooth earbuds that could stand up to rain and sweat with a longer battery life. Most of the ones I looked at had only average ratings. I also checked reviews thru a general internet search to see what they had to say. That's when I came across the AfterShokz. I was drawn in by the technology that still allowed me to hear ambient noise around me. I think this is very important for any runner and is one of the disadvantages of normal earbuds. The Amazon reviews were also good.When first using these I had to get used to them. Depending on the volume there can be some vibration which makes it feel like they are falling off. They have hooks that go over the ears, so no worries there, but it does take a little getting used to. Eventually you won't even notice it.The sound comes thru like you are wearing normal earbuds. They work great. The sound is like a normal pair of earbuds, i.e., just average. If you are looking for a living room surround sound experience, these aren't going to give it to. But then again, I'm running. I don't need or want that. The sound is perfectly adequate for what I want. The volume doesn't go super high, but high enough when I'm out on the road. The point is to able to listen to music while also being aware of your surroundings. Being able to hear ambient noise doesn't really interfere with the sound. The AfterShokz definitely provide a level of safety over any in-ear listening device. This feature will also come in handy when running in a crowded race.I wear sunglasses (bifocal transition lenses) even when it's dark or cloudy. That's because I need the bifocals to be able to read my GPS watch. Sunglasses fit easily and comfortably over the ear hooks of the headphones. So, from a comfort, safety and sound standpoint these are great. They also stand up nicely to sweat and rain.The only potential problem with them is battery life. They are supposed to last for up to 6 hours and perhaps they do when being used for a single event. The longest run I have used them for is 3:50 and there was no problem. However, I did not charge them overnight following that run and they were dead the next day. So while they held up for the run they did not hold any remaining charge overnight. So now I charge them every night when I have a run the next day. I'm running a marathon in November and, as I said, I'm slow, so I expect to be out on the course for close to 5 hours. We'll see if they make it. I hope so because I do love these headphones.So right now I am giving it 5 stars. I will update this review after my race and let you know how the battery performed. On balance, best headphones I have ever used for running.UPDATE JUNE 2019I've now used these for about 10 months and have been very happy. I ran a marathon in 4:49 and the battery held up the entire time. These are clearly the best bluetooth headphones for runners.In June of this year they stopped working. I contacted AfterShokz and filled in a short form and emailed it along with my Amazon receipt. The next day they approved the refund and sent a brand new pair of the Trekz Air. Excellent service and excellent guarantee. Just one more reason why these are the best headphones for runners.

Las opiniones que vierto a continuación parten de que dispongo de distintos tipos de auriculares tradicionales, con distintos tamaños y formas de adaptación al oído, prefiriendo hasta la fecha los que son pequeños y nada "intrusivos" porque los grandes me molestan con las gafas que uso y los "intrusivos" me molestan el oído y me provocan ruidos molestos cuanto hago cualquier movimiento. En relación concreta con los AFTERSHOKZ TREKZ AIR que acabo de adquirir, cito a continuación los pros y contras.A FAVOR: Con volumen bajo la calidad del sonido (musica) es muy similar a la de unos buenos auriculares tradicionales (incorporados al oído), volumen que, como es lógico, solo puede utilizarse en entornos sin ruido y en entornos con ruido pero con los tapones para el oído que incorpora el producto puestos. Son muy cómodos, no pesan nada y pueden usarse perfectamente con gafas. La funda es bonita y cómoda. Son muy fáciles de enlazar con cualquier dispositivo bluetooth. Son muy fáciles de usar. El servicio técnico es excelente. La primera vez que los enlacé no sonaba bien uno de los auriculares. Pensé que el auricular era defectuoso e inicié el proceso de devolución, durante el cual inicié un chat con el servicio técnico que me resolvió el problema: el origen de la mala audición era un enlace incorrecto con el dispositivo bluetooth. Finalmente, lo más importante es que, creo, no dañan el oído o lo dañan mucho menos que los auriculares tradicionales, salvo mejor opinión de un experto en esta materia.EN CONTRA: Los avisos para conexión, desconexión, enlace, etc. suenan con demasiado volumen y resultan molestos. Sería deseable que el volumen de estos avisos pudiera ajustarse. No he conseguido un enlace correcto con la salida bluetooth de mi ordenador IMac de 21,5 pulgadas de finales de 2013 con MacOS Sierra, de modo que no puedo usarlos para escuchar sonido o música del ordenador. El precio me parece un poco elevado y aún más el del último modelo (los AFTERSHOKZ AEROPEX) que, al parecer, solo incorpora como diferencia con este una mayor duración de la batería, diferencia que no justificaría el incremento del precio, lo que ha motivado que no pidiera los Aeropex.
