Not pleased
Took out of box. Assembled and started. Tan for about 2 minutes and then error code E 11. No real explanations or trouble shooting options for that error. Removed from power and tried again later. Same results. Will not even turn on now to get past error code. Pathetic….. update… they shipped me a new temp sensor and it works good now. Will run it many times before the end of my Amazon return time expires…. Running now but the hot air smells like melted plastic now. Can’t use it due to the smell. Now not working at all… pathetic

Pretty good
Using it in a roof top tent, was 22F degrees last night and kept me plenty warm. It's never smoked on startup like I've seen in some videos I've seen but that's fine. I wish it was truly a all in one without the funky exhaust and intake. Or at least make it come out the side and not the bottom. It still works fine but I imagine over time it will get damaged when I'm transporting it. Haven't fiddled with any features just turned it on and adjusted the temperature down to not cook me out of my tent. Ran all night off a optima yellow top, and about a half tank of diesel. If it lasts I'm more than happy with this thing

A Great Little Heater
I am very impressed with the Maxspeedingrods portable diesel heater. The case is a handy size, seems well-built, and functions as it should. A very nice-looking piece of gear. I was amazed with the heat output and ease of use. The LCD panel, however, is quite dim, almost unviewable in bright sun. There is a button to kick it up a notch and it can then be viewed by covering the sides of your eyes with your hands. It would certainly be nice if it were brighter. That being said, the LCD panel does pop off of the heater and has a cable where the panel can be placed inside the area being heated. This helps with the viewing and of course, brings the temp sensor within the heated space so that the Auto function will sense the temperature and adjust the output accordingly. I had no issues with diesel spilling out of the fill cap while in transit or carrying it. I have not spilled one drop of diesel from it.Cons: The only issue I had with the heater was installing the exhaust and heater intake. OMG. Like most of these heaters that require some assembly, installing them can be a real pain, if not almost impossible. There is virtually no way to get a screwdriver or wrench onto the hose clamp. As the clamp is tightened the tab end comes out under the hex screw which pretty much prevents the use of a wrench or socket...it partially blocks part of the hex head. However, I did find a decent workaround. Amazon sells the STREBITO Mini Ratchet Set. It is a 22-Piece 1/4 Ratchet Right Angle Screwdriver, 36-Tooth resolution for $11.99. The wrench comes with 1/4 drive sockets and bits. Having a 36-tooth drive gives a much higher resolution of wrench movement so that small increments can be made. It was then possible to get the socket on the hex sufficiently enough and with the application of pressure, using your finger on the end of the ratchet head, to turn the hex. After ordering this wrench I was able to tighten the hose clamps very tight. I cannot imagine accomplishing this without this wrench set. Also, the exhaust pipe comes with a slight split in the end, I extended this split another 1/8 inch which made tightening the clamp easier. Also, as many other reviewers point out, the feet of the heater should be shimmed up three inches or so, or the exhaust and intake will be touching the ground. It would be great if the manufacturer would simply extend the feet the appropriate amount. All that being said, it does have provisions to mount the heater on extensions, such as 2x4 or 4x4 blocks. You could also figure out a way to easily MacGyver wheels or something to raise it the appropriate distance. As for the burner intake, I bent it up 90 degrees and zip-tied it to the handle so that it stood vertically like a snorkel. I did order an extension for the exhaust as I feel that it needs to be further away from the vent intake to be safe. The included heat wrap works very well.....wear the included gloves while wrapping it around the exhaust. I didn't and ended up with temporary discomfort from the fiberglass embedded in my hand. When first firing up the heater they recommend manually priming the fuel line. This is done by pressing the up/down arrow keys simultaneously. I was unsure how long to let it prime before canceling the prime by again hitting the up/down keys. I did this several times, trying to get it primed. I overdid it and it put out a lot of white smoke for about 5 minutes before clearing up. Once it was running properly it did not put out any smoke at all. I placed my CO monitor in front of the output vent and got nothing. I then held it in front of the exhaust pipe and got nothing. Makes me wonder if my new monitor is working properly, though I think it is. As for heat output, I was amazed. I ran it up to level three, it has five levels, and was amazed at how much heat it put out and the volume of air. I did not run it up to level 5 as I saw no need. At level three the fan is fairly quiet. As for the dreaded click, click, click of the fuel pump, I did not find it to be loud at all. I was very satisfied with how quiet it was. Is there some clicking? Yes, but very subdued....enough to let you know it is working properly. All-in-all, this was a fantastic purchase and I am looking forward to using it to heat my tent. Mr. Heater Buddy and other propane heaters are very inefficient....costing a lot of money to run. For every pound of propane burned in a Heater Buddy, it will produce 1.6 pounds of water in your tent. I am satisfied with this heater.

Choose a different model and save time, effort, and frustration. NOT HAPPY (and cold).
Delivered last week and still cannot get anything to work properly.Constant Open circuit error. Company sent glow plug to replace, still the same error. I will follow up and see if they can send a circuit board. Already way past the purchase price in frustration.Phone support limited to 5pm EST.Really regretting going with brand. App functionality not worth paying extra money, buy the simple units, they're tried and tested.

Great unit!
Portability is key for camping, I use this heater to heat my roof top tent as well as a tent that sits on the ground. I’ve used it 4 times in 35 - 40 degree Fahrenheit weather and it worked great, fuel consumption was about 2-3 pints of diesel fuel for 8 hours, had no problems at all, the remote works great! I have had 2 other brands mounted “in vehicles”, this unit is good! I recommend it, giving it 5 stars so far!

Easy to install will run about 32.5hours at 5 Celsius in a 24 x 24 garage. Pretty Good if you think about it. it's heating the whole Garage at minus 32 and keeping Garage at plus 5.
