Great for Baking! Not so great for mixing in liquid as a fiber supplement.
As stated in the description of the product, this is a great product for baking. It is finely ground so it mixes well into flour. You can use it to increase the fiber content of wheat flour-based baked goods or to improve the texture of gluten-free baked goods. However because it is so finely ground, it readily clumps when you mix it with a liquid so this is not an ideal product to add fiber to liquids. The only way I have found to prevent the clumping in liquid is to place the powder in a bowl, then slowly pour the liquid in while whisking vigorously to prevent clumping. You have to whisk very fast to avoid clumping and if that's what you want the product for I would buy a product that is not as finely ground as this product. But this product is excellent for baking.

No artificial sweeteners and good price per ounce
Mixes pretty well. Unflavored so no artificial sweeteners. Good price per ounce.

If psyllium doesn't work for you give this one a try
Like everyone else I used to get the NOW brand and I felt like it never really worked either the whole or powder it was either hit or miss on its effectiveness no matter how much I took. This stuff on the other hand is completely different the taste is more mild, it mixes smoother and works consistently (I use it to prep for anal play). This one is actually a powder like flour rather then coarsely ground husks which I personally like. On top of all that good stuff its also cheaper then NOW's per oz and comes in a bigger bag. love this stuff hope the never change it!

Mixes poorly and thickens quick
I use a little mixer that I use to mix my coffee and mix it as soon as I add it to the water- it sticks to the bottom and thickens too fast. Seal on the bag broke on day 2. I have a different brand that does not do this. Will not buy again.

Mixes fine with a shaker bottle. Flavorless, not really. Makes gel.
I read the other reviews about the powder not dissolving in liquids well. I used a shaker bottle and it dissolved just fine. I used the old hidden valley ranch shaker for making dressing. I also have a shaker with a spring mixer ball in it which I can assume will work as well. Now the flavor of the flavorless power. I mixed two scoops in 8oz of water and the taste was not pleasant for me. Tasted earth and mushroomy if I had to put a flavor on it. I bought it for fiber for myself and my dog. Dog doesn't seem to care when mixed with food, and I will mix using flavored liquid going forward as I didn't care for it plain. Update: I mixed a couple scoops with some sugar free crystal light in a shaker and it mixed fine. I poured it into a cup with ice. I could still taste the powder over the drink, but better than with plain water. Also, the bottom 20% turned into a gel. I did "drink" the gel and it did not have the earthy flavor the liquid top portion did. Not sure how to consume this stuff. Worked great in a smoothie, but I do not have those every day.

Good soluble fiber
Add it to liquid in a jar with a lid, and shake it up, itโll mix a lot better than trying to stir it in. Drink it quick or itโll get too thick. Good soluble fiber supplement!

doesn't mix easily
As far as the taste and health benefits are concerned, it's tasteless and I'm sure it's like all other psyllium powders. However I was disappointed to find it does not mix easily into liquids, I basically have to use an immersion blender to get it to blend in and not be in clumps. This means I can't use it for putting in my coffee, which is how I'd planned to use it. ( I drink my coffee slowly, and with psyllium you have to drink it quickly before it starts to gel up.) Maybe it can be used in baking, or in a type of liquid you can drink quickly. I also thought it was weird that the serving size is listed as "one scoop" (rather than 1 tsp., 1 Tbs, or some other recognizable measure. There is NO "scoop" included in the bag. How am I supposed to know how much "a scoop" is? Finally, while it may not be the fault of the product, it did give me bad cramps and gas the first few days I tried it. I know it says to start slowly and build up to avoid this, but I spread out my intake over a day--with a serving size split into three portions taken at three different meals) and I'm used to a high fiber diet and was reducing my normal fiber intake at the same time, so I didn't think I'd have that much of a problem. I had to stop and pause for a few days, as the GI upset was too annoying. I'll resume again later and see if starting with just tiny, incremental doses work better. Overall I'm not sure what to think of this product--I think psyllium husk powder is a great health supplement but have been disappointed with my first experience with this particular brand or form of it.
