The Originals: The Complete Fourth Season [Blu-ray]

Every season of The Originals gets better & better (it was awesome to begin with). It has amazing actors in it like Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Charles Michael Davis & Yusuf Gatewood to name a few. If you liked The Vampire Diaries, you will love this show. It has a bit darker, more mature feel to it than TVD. I love that I can buy the episodes the next day on Amazon & own them. BTW, when you purchase, you own the episode - it's not a rental. I buy the SD version for $1.99 an episode because I really can't tell the difference. (HD is $2.99) If you end up buying a lot of the episodes, you can easily switch over to "Buy a Season Pass" & get a refund of the difference between what you paid per episode vs. the Season pass - as long as the season is still airing.

It's amazing when a show grows better with each passing season; utterly stunning, when that show happens to be a spinoff. Plec and company truly shine here. I'm grateful; Vampire Diaries literally changed my life, both as a writer, and in terms with how I navigate aspects of loss, grief, love, and redemption; The Originals keeps both my writer and fan mind on the edge, episode to episode, season to season. Well done, bravo!

I used to love this show, but could not get into this years season - I am sorry to say, it was boring. I think shows like this need to be careful about killing off so many of the core characters that in the end there are very few characters left that anybody cares about. It seems the same happened with the Vampire Diaries. Both are shows that were exceptional and then not so much. Hopefully better stories and stronger writing next season.

It is good. I am glad to see that the producers kept the young female actress away from the fake horror. The Originals is for adults not kids. But, good short 4th season. To me the best of all four. I love the chemistry the actors and the actress's have with each other. I am trying to be careful not to give spoilers for those that have not seen the 4th season. So lets say for me. Great things happen for some and bad things happen for others. In my opinion the way they should have.And I personally would prefer the character Davina with Danielle Campbell over Riley Voelkel that plays Freya. Also we don't need to see more of The Vampire diaries cast. Having Paul Wesley show up one time was one time too many. They had eight seasons that's enough.Hopefully season 5 will be as good as season 4.

This spin-off from The Vampire Diaries (which was cancelled in 2017) has proven, at least for me, to be far more interesting than the show from which it was spun off. The characters are far more interesting and don't have the teen angst that propelled the most successful seasons of The Vampire Diaries. All of the main characters in this show are flawed (deeply flawed) but all also seem to have at least one redeeming quality -- and it's that deeply buried goodness that will hook you and keep you watching. Despite their, at times, violent and despicable behavior, you will find yourself caring about this family and rooting for their survival.If The Originals was not renewed for another season (a possibility as it ended), it at least had an ending that wasn't totally unsatisfying. My hope is, however, that it will be given at least one more year to possibly wrap things up in an even better (and happier) manner. But as a show, this one is definitely binge worthy and worth your time.

I liked the first season, 2 and 3 were so lala, but this one is just boring and stupid. It lacks the humor and some kind of a story, which were present in the first season(s). The fourth season is just a series of threats, violence and anger. Yes, this is about vampires and werewolves, but in my opinion it needs more than slaughtering and the (stupid) fight against the biggest enemy ever (after defeating the biggest enemy ever in the previous seasons...) with no new ideas, no interesting storyline, but nothing else than threats, killing, fear, yelling, pain, screaming, etc.

OMG, as one of my all time favorite shows, I am so thankful it's being continued. Unlike most amazing shows that are always cancelled or replaced by some mindless reality show. Not only is the cast, all of them, amazing, their acting is impeccable there is so much depth within each of their characters and they portray it so well. Most importantly, the show remains to continue with each season and storyline more intense and greater than the season before. Most shows seem to run its course, and "jump the shark," but not The Originals. They continue to gain more and more interesting, intense, intricate, gripping, and suspenseful episodes. It is also important to point out the characters Elijah and Klaus are so multidimensional, absolutely superior acting from such talented actors. Honestly they could be the best actors/acting I've ever seen. Please CW, continue with this gripping and amazing show.

I'm so enthralled with this show. And this was the best season ender yet. I can't wait to see what next season brings. I love the vampire diaries, but it doesn't hold a stick to this show, in my honest opinion. I'm so glad they are going to continue. So much more of a store that could be told. And now they're talking about a spin off of this show. I'm looking forward to see if that happens. All around best show ever in this genre.

For New Orleans, a very rare five years of peace. This is not to last. Now comes the greatest challenge ever. After fifteen hundred years, INADU about to awake - she The Hollow, with devoted ruthless followers in readiness. Time for sworn enemies to forget their differences. Marcel and Vincent need the Mikaelsons. Together they may defeat the gathering menace. New ingredient this time round is Hope, little daughter of Klaus and Hayley. She has the makings of the world's most powerful witch ever. No wonder she is to prove The Hollow's prime target....Thirteen episodes, this season enhanced by Summer Fontana's performance as Hope and by Klaus showing such paternal concern.Although reluctantly deciding after Season 3 to quit the series (too much "same old"), curiosity tempted me back, this being the last season and all. (Which it has turned out not to be, although the final episode seems to represent a worthy rounding off.)Fans will welcome here much the same as before, practically every episode containing "deaths" of key characters who are promptly back again. Some may feel a real opportunity has been missed when The Hollow eventually arrives - here surely a creature to inspire terror the moment glimpsed. Instead she is depicted as yet another young lady trendily garbed, looking as though she has strolled straight out of make-up (which is probably so). Is that really the best the creators could manage?Bonuses include the 2016 Comic-Con Panel reflecting on Season 3 and briefly hinting what can now be expected. As last time, this is where Joseph Morgan (Klaus) disarmingly demonstrates a humour and charm that one wishes were evident in the show itself.Worth watching for Hope, she deserving that prominence on the box set's evocative cover - standing barefoot in a circle of dead crows.

Ich bin The Vampire Diaries Fan der ersten Stunde und normalerweise eher skeptisch, sobald Serien ein Spin Of bekommen.In diesem Fall liebe ich The Originals aber mindestens genauso sehr wie The Vampire Diaries und auch die vierte Staffel ist unglaublich STARK!Schade, dass nur noch eine weitere Staffel folgen soll, ich kann mir gar nicht vorstellen welche Serie jemals wieder so toll werden kann...

Another great season of The Originals. Although this season only had 13 episodes, I found they were too the point and had a decent plot. I enjoyed meeting Hope as an older kid with her own personality and I swooned with Klaus and Hope interacted. The cast once again brought their A game. Joseph Morgan, Riley Voekel,Daniel Gilles and Charles Michael Davis continue to impress in their roles, the setting of New Orleans remains fascinating. Overall, a wonderful season. The extras were excellent this season including the last years comic-con panel and bloopers!

I have watched the season on tv but had to buy the DVD to add to my collection. I just finished rewatching seasons 1 to 3 and now will be starting to watch this season. Love this show and was thrilled to see while watching The Exrem on season 3 that some the cast from vampire Diaries which has ended this year are joining the cast of The Originals. YAY!!!! Love these two shows.
