As a professional automotive technician I use smoke machines quite often. At work I have access to a very expensive machine that works with nitrogen. I use smoke machines to find evap leaks, intake/vacuum leaks and even turbo leaks. For my home shop this tool is invaluable and compact and makes sense at a fraction of the cost of a larger unit.This machine is pretty basic. The smoke hose and power cord plug into the main unit. It has a hook for hanging and a simple 2 buttons to operate. The unit has an onboard compressor. This kit includes a bottle of fluid for smoke creation that is filled from the top. This smoke machine works well, is well built and worthy of 5 stars.

Does not smoke near as much as I thought. I do not think this is worth the price point.

This is a decent quality smoke machine. As others have reported though, the included smoke fluid is garbage and produces very little visible smoke. The key to getting this smoker to work better is to switch either to a good quality smoke fluid from another brand or just use baby oil from the local pharmacy. Baby oil works like a charm and is cheap!

Unit just sits there spitting oil out. After an hour of running the machine no smoke was produced at all, just leaked everywhere. I took the whole unit and tossed it in the trash where it belongs. Do not waste your money on this

I am really glad this thing works so well. Smoke machines are really handy for dagnosing EVAP leaks on cars these days. I have always wanted a compact one for home use and this was the perfect size.It works exactly as expected. Some folks say it doesn't make smoke. The smoke juice it came with is pretty bad. It doesn't work very well at all, but you can get smoke machine fluid from your local parts store and use the one that works to your expectation.I use baby oil. It smokes like crazy. I also found some good smoke liquid on amazon too.I appreciate the little compressor in there that pumps up the system so you don't have to add shop air. That's really nice.I would highly recommend.

This machine does work, it does not produce as much smoke as I would like, but I also did not expect it to lay down a layer of fog for my Halloween display. The smoke is enough to see and the machine does function as it is supposed to. Its price is on par with most of the lower end home mechanic machines, so I would say the value is on par as well. It is easy to use, but I may try another type of smoke solution to get a better result, but it does work so that may make the difference for my terrible eyes. Others have notes that maybe you need to run it a few times before it gets consistent, so maybe that will help me too. I wouldn’t mind if they included some various caps that could be used to create a seal when pumping the air.

These smoke machines are whats needed to find a vacuum leak on computerized cars. Old way of using carb cleaner etc doesn’t work due to computer adjusting air fuel ratio rate too fast. Used the provided smoke fluid but didn’t get much smoke at first, then I switched to baby oil in the machine and it worked great. Machine is easy to move and store, worked good for me. Price is around one dealership labor hour, so I feel the price is fair.

The media could not be loaded.  The last time I had a vacuum leak it was my fault; there was a difficult-to-see vacuum hose I forgot to attach after I did some work. I eventually found the leak, but the whole time I thought how nice it might be to have a smoke machine.I tested this in the garage, not on a vehicle - it works. Not having used this kind of machine before, I felt a little underwhelmed at the amount of smoke produced. I added an empty plastic bottle hoping it might make it easier for the camera to capture. And to be fair, I could always see the smoke more easily than my cell phone seemed to capture.When I first turned it on there wasn't any smoke for a minute or two. It smoked for a few seconds then it seemed to stop all together, even though it had not been running anywhere near 5 minutes. So I turned it off, then back on as the instructions suggest and it worked better the second time. I did this 4-5 times over 20 minutes and the unit then smoked in a much more consistent manner. I didn't see anything in the instructions about needing any sort of "break in" period, but maybe it needed it.There still wasn't as much smoke as I thought there might be, but honestly if I had this connected to a car's vacuum lines I sure I'd see it coming out of any sort of leak. And maybe if it ran even longer it might produce a greater quantity of smoke - maybe. As is, I think this will work for me.
