All works ok except the light stays on dimly continuously at night then goes bright when motion is detected, this is stated in the manual as it's normal function and can't be changed, because it stays on the battery goes flat after about 3 hours and then stays off, this means in the morning when it's still dark and we need the light to work it is no longer working. Next issue is because the battery is flat in winter it's not sunny enough or light enough to fully recharge the Battery. The fix would be to have the light only come on when motion is detected and not stay on dimly throughout darkness

Fantastic! At my bungalow the front security light (mains powered) did not work. I had no idea whether it was the lamp unit or the wiring that was busted and wasn't paying to find out! This unit provides two levels of light (low level constant light that is amplifies when the PIR is activated). The light lasts all night after a decent amount of sun. There is plenty of cable between solar panel and unit, and the solar panel mount can be horizontal or vertical. Given that mains powered security lights can be as much as 500w, this little beauty can shave pounds off your electricity bill! I guess it will not be as useful in the dark days of winter when it doesn't get as much light, but the rechargeable battery is AA size and could be taken out and charged by any battery charger so I may buy a second battery and have one in the light and one mains charging!!!

This light is okay, the illumination is adequate for about 10-15 feet but it runs out of power within around 2-3 hours and goes off, so pretty useless really in these winter months! It would be much better if it didn't stay on dim when dark and just came on full with motion detection only!

Excellent piece of kit. Well made, good design and terrific value for money. Having the solar panel at the end of a decent-length cable really improves the flexibility when it comes to siting the light. The pir works well and the light it provides is ample for illuminating our front door when trying to get the key in the lock after coming back from the pub!

This solar powered light was very easy to install, worked the first evening to be fair it gave out a bright light, but it failed to work from the next day, we had a good few days of sun light so not the case it could charge.

Light is easy to install but as others have reported the battery simply isn't good enough to cope with it keeping a dull constant light during the hours or darkness.I've had mine six months and even with the panel facing south, the battery doesn't last more than a few hours.I suppose this is what you get for a £10 product. Will bee looking to replace for something better!

Works well except each day you have to turn it off and back on again to get it to work. When the battery discharges and it goes off. It doesn't come back on. As such it's no good.

Handy light for me as the solar panel plugs in to the led lamp, if not enough sun to charge battery it can be charged by 3 volt mains adapter, I`ve hooked it to the fence for easy removal and slip back on...remains to be seen how long it lasts for?
