The black toner (202A) is the most-used toner that you'll need.
This is probably the most used toner for the M254 laser printer (ours is the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281cdw). Our HP printer has been working for a couple decades now. The supplies are costly, but the results are professional. We collect the empties until we just have to recycle. We try to do our part.

Its the Real Deal
Cartridge is 100% HP new and a valid cartridge. There is a code on the package you can scan with your cell phone and it will tell you that the cartridge is original and valid HP. Easy to remove from packaging and no need to pull any tape from the cartridge to get it started. Open the cartridge bay on your laserjet, take out your old cartridge, shake the new one a few times and insert it. Close the cartridge bay and the printer will begin initializing and also tell you that the new cartridge is valid. Do a test print off the supplies icon to make sure the cartridge is 100% full and you will be good to go. You can also recycle your old cartridge in the box and either mail it back to HP with the prepaid label included in the box or take the old cartridge to Walmart or Best Buy and they will recycle it. All in all, this cartridge is the real deal and works flawlessly in my HP M281 Laserjet printer.

Update printer firmware if your printer thinks it's a "non-HP chip."
This cartridge has a chip in it that HP uses to validate that you paid full price for the real HP cartridge vs. other options. After a quick installation, my printer said "Indicated cartridges blocked for containing a non-HP chip" and I was unable to print. To address this, I updated the printer (an HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M281cdw) to its latest firmware using the installer available on the printer support page at hp.com. After doing this, the printer recognized the cartridge as an HP cartridge and I was able to print.
