Glass Fermentation Weights Set of 6 - Easy Grip Glass Fermenting Weights, Perfect Fit for Wide Mouth Mason Canning Jars, Highly Durable Fermentation Kit for Sauerkraut, Kimchi & More

Bought these for my hot sauce fermentation… I have not done about 12 jars worth. Some with and some without. These lids and the system I’m using draws the air out of the jar, which causes the space between the particles to increase and… if your are like me, you fill your jars within 1.5 -2 inches from the top, when fermenting starts… liquid will overflow… thus the plates in the picture… and the large jar, note the height of the pepper mash after pumping. This overflowed on my counter. These hold down the particles and encourage the gas to work its way to the top. I say encourage, because I still get gas trapped below and that’s okay too.A friend saw these on my counter and gave me a hard time… sure, you could go find some very smooth stones and sanitize them, or be thrifty some other way, but these are glass, they are a breeze to clean and sanitize… there is little to no chance of contamination on the smooth surface if they are washed/cleaned even in the simplest way. So… almost a no brainer. Are they a must have? No…. But I’m glad I did!

The product is of excellent quality, but if an issue does arise this small business will go out of its way to make sure you are happy with the results. After the purchase of thousands of different products from Amazon, this company receives my highest recommendation.

Love the weights as it helps all the veges to stay in the salted water and the veges come out perfectly fermented. The weights fit in the mason jars snuggly and so not problem with putting them in.

I was disappointed that these wouldn’t work with my wide mouth Ball brand jars. I thought maybe I just had a bad batch of jars because my mother lent me some of her old style Ball jars and they worked fine. So I went and purchased more Ball jars and they still didn’t fit. I reached out to customer service and they were wonderful. They even sent me more weights to see if I just got a bad batch and they still didn’t fit. This company is awesome and prompt in their communications. The weights work perfectly in the old style of jars. This is just a warning to check your jars before ordering. The new style won’t work. The old style works great. I have not tried any other brand than Ball. I think this is more of an error on Ball because canning lids don’t even fit on their jars the same. They are loose.

Just what the canner ordered!

I'm one who may or may not ever write reviews, but I felt like I needed to with this one. it's my first go at fermenting and so I've watched countless videos on it. as far as I can recall the weights used in said videos were relatively small and left a fair amount of room around the weight for the fermenting item to pop up around. these weights however take up nearly the entire width of the jar leaving very little room for stuff to float up.it may not be all that important - as I said I'm new to this - but it certainly felt like a nice and intentional product design to me. will definitely be getting more when the time comes.

Quick shipping! Good price 😀

Enjoy using these for fermenting many different things, work well.
