Great and affordable collection of some of C.S. Lewis's greatest works. The Abolition of Man and Miracles are very difficult reads. Highly recommend. Definitely good to read a chapter or two at a time with Lewis and really take your time or re-read to fully grasp his texts.

Everyone should own a copy of C.S. Lewis’s Signature Classics—it is a must have and great addition to any library for theology and literature or for fans and collectors. Lewis does not disappoint, his writing style is easy to comprehend and lay- people friendly. This anthology is one of my favorite purchases because it has built me up spiritually and it will do you the same. Lewis was the man of his time, and is the man of ours.

Love this book! Bought it to go with a C.S. Lewis Bible study. Loved getting several of Lewis’ volumes in one book. Filled with timeless lessons on morality and being a Christ follower in general. Great price for the content.

The C.S. Lewis Signature Classics is a great collection, especially for the value since you’re getting multiple books in one. I will say the writing style can be a little challenging at first. It takes a bit of time to adjust to how it’s written, but once you get into it, it becomes much easier to follow. The content itself is really powerful and thought-provoking. It offers a lot of insight and a unique perspective that makes you stop and think. Overall, it’s a meaningful and worthwhile read, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something deeper and more insightful.

Excellent and captivating writing in true C S Lewis form. It is true it’s a large book due to so many books in one, not for traveling. I found the type neither to large nor to small. The works themselves will not disappoint. Many important concepts and insights and laid out in a way that is so understandable, as only C S Lewis could do.

Review of C S Lewis Anthology, Signature Classics What can one say that hasn't already been said about this marvelous collection? While I did read some Lewis while at Washington and Jefferson College in the late 1960s (esp. in "Great British Writers" re Spenser), it wasn't until c. 1978 that Trish Lindsay, wife of my college roommate Al Lindsay, gave me "Screwtape," and the rest is history. I have recently had the occasion to purchase and re-read just about all of these 8 magnificent books. The one thing I remember from my first reading of "Miracles" about 20 years ago is Lewis's argument that the Christian miracles have a close relationship to the natural course of nature. It so happened that, while I was reading the book, I cut my finger on a knife in the kitchen. Not only did my cut heal, but I can't even tell where the cut was. This is relevant to the argument in "Miracles." I have loved reading 7 of these great 8 books thus far, and I love them all. "Miracles," upon this rereading, is one of the greatest things I've ever read. I have written elsewhere about my love of Lewis, but it bears repeating with respect to these books: The burden of the search for the truth may be said to be the subject matter of Lewis's life and writings. In a very real sense the course of "philosophy" over the past 2000 years has been the attempt by believers and non-believers to answer, within the context of Christianity's assertions, Pilate's question, "What is truth?" This question has been examined up and down, right and left, top and bottom, within and without, relying on revelation and not so relying. One of the things I love about Lewis is that he deeply and fairly considers the arguments of the opposition, the skeptics, and the non-believers, a trait woefully lacking in our times. My mother had a book in her library in which it was written, either in the title or the text (I cannot remember which), "Do we have a revelation?" I believe we do. So did Lewis. Lewis's alleged paucity of "biblicism" and specifically Christian content is noted. My view is that Lewis, coming from atheism to Christianity as he did, preferred to dispute with every conceivable skeptic and agnostic and atheist and doubter, considering and responding to all their arguments, so that, as he wrote in Miracles, once the premises are established, the objections are cleared away, and clarity of thought is attained, the atheists can go their way but those who are open to it can now approach the New Testament in an appropriate way.

I bought this edition because I loved the idea of having several of C.S. Lewis's classic works all in one beautiful volume. It saves shelf space, keeps everything together, and makes it easy to have a complete collection in one place. My fiancé and I have been reading The Four Loves together, and that's where I noticed the biggest downside. Since it's near the end of the book, the entire volume becomes a bit awkward to hold and read. It's fairly heavy, and turning the pages isn't as comfortable as reading the standalone edition. That said, I still plan to keep this copy because my individual copy of The Four Loves is starting to fall apart. Overall, I think this is a wonderful edition for anyone who wants C.S. Lewis's classics in one place. Just keep in mind that it's a large, hefty book, so it may not be the most comfortable choice for everyday reading.

This book is excellent value for money because it contains the eight most important Lewis classics, including Mere Christianity (the greatest of them all), in a single volume. C.S. Lewis, author of the Chronicles of Narnia, was a highly gifted writer in English. Among all the great English writers, only George Orwell comes close to Lewis' particular gift in terms of discussing extremely complex ideas in crystal clear language accessible to all. In fact, these classics are worth reading for literary merit alone - and as a masterclass in how to write. In particular, I would draw your attention to the Abolition of Man. I think this essay is particularly relevant in our own times. He makes a powerful critique of society and educational institutions - being C.S. Lewis he is also extremely gentlemanly in his criticisms - and he shows the wisdom of inherited traditions.

Great book for asking the tough questions about a relationship with the God of gods! Also really helps with how to talk to others about our faith.
