Alba Botanica Even & Bright Cleansing Gel, 6 Oz (Packaging May Vary)

I had been using Proactiv green tea moisturizer for years out of fear that I would break out horribly if I switched to anything else. It had really gotten to the point where it wasn't even doing anything anymore for me though.I had flaky, beyond dry skin across my brow bone and under my eyes at times, to the point where it was painful. I tried coconut oil, mango butter, Burt's Bees eye cream, and nothing seemed to work without making it burn like crazy or make it worse.In comes this lovely product. It is super thick, and you only need a tiny bit of it. I just touch the top of it and get enough for above my eyes, then do one more pat for my forehead and each cheek. I use it day and night and it is a miracle product.It is extremely moisturizing, but not to the point of making this skin feel like it is suffocating or greasy. It really just feels balanced and soft and happy. I also use this on my neck where I have some stubborn eczema, and even with the strong fragrance in it, it doesn't bother it and is actually the only thing that has worked on it, even beyond Cortizone-10 for eczema and my Eucerin cream.Yes, the smell is something else. It smells kind of like men's deodorant. I actually almost pitched it/gave it away after using it the first time... I had to wash it off my face because I couldn't stand it. But then, one night, I had it sitting on my counter, and was desperate for some moisture, so I slathered it on around my eyes and woke up with normal skin for the first time since probably October. I have to admit I had some weird dreams that night that my face was inside a guy's armpit. But now, I'm used to it. Just like any perfume you wear, you'll get used to it and not even notice it after a day or two.Oh, and not a single breakout! For this price, you have to give it a try!

When it comes to sunscreens, you basically have two choices - a physical barrier like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, or a chemical sunscreen. For me, the mineral oxides feel like motor oil on my face. When you have to scrub that greasy white stuff off with hot soapy water twice to get remove it, no bueno. So I go with the chemical sunscreens. At my age, I'm pretty sure they're not going to be what takes me out this time around. I'm coming back to this product after several years of being away, trying other more expensive or more exotic moisturizing sunscreens. Why'd I come back? Here's what I love about this moisturizer: 1) it's light yet still moisturizes. It's not going to clog your pores. 2) the brightening ingredients actually DO brighten your skin 3) SPF 15 is adequate for my needs, since I'm not going out into the noon-day sun with it 4) the scent is lovely and light, nothing overwhelming or off-putting, and fades quickly. Don't be put off by the negative reviews about the packaging. Just look at the thing - the cap is flat because it's meant to be stored vertically, cap down. When you do this, the product inside drips down so it will easily come out of the pump. Yeah, if you store it on its side, you may get frustrated. So just eliminate the source of frustration and store it standing on the cap.

You're supposed to use this every night and see a noticeable difference in about two weeks. I'm terrible with skin regiments and I've been using it off and on since I bought it a few months ago and doubt that I've used it every night for at least two weeks, so I can't speak to how well it works in that regard. What I can tell you is that my skin is noticeably softer and smoother when I wake up in the morning. I'm very lucky in that I don't get acne very often, but I think this cream helps keep it at bay as well.One thing I did learn is that there is DEFINITELY a difference between a lotion and a cream and that a little cream goes a long way! If you're not a garbage person like me and actually take care of your skin, you probably already knew this. But I've mostly used lotions my entire life, so this was my first time using a cream and while it definitely feels different on my face (a little heavier), I don't dislike it. The smell is pretty strong, but it's not unpleasant to me. I'm not sure how to describe it. It just smells...clean, I guess.I'm about halfway through the jar and was on the fence about getting another one once this runs out, but I think I will. Before I was using too much and it felt like I was rubbing my face for hours before all the white went away, but now I've figured out how much I should *actually* be using and the experience is much better as a result. Plus I like the smell.

I love the Alba products. They are the one brand I can trust that does not make my skin feel itchy or irritated. I love the scent of this and the built in silicone scrub brush is actually really nice. I saw a lot of people review and say they didn’t like it but I really enjoy it. It’s soft and very easy to squeeze and use. The price is great for a good quality product. I will be buying this product again!

I love this product! It gives my skin the perfect amount of moisture and brightness. It is not too heavy or greasy. It is light and absorbs. I love the smell; it is pleasant and clean. It is perfect for dry environments and blends in. Love it!
