LIFE SMART Large Room Infrared Quartz Fireplace in Burnished Oak Finish w/Remote

We like the way it looks, and the unit has great heat output. However, it is missing the temperature sensor.Which means, it never turns off and the eco mode does not work. I am currently in email negotiation with Supply Chain Sources to get the missing part under warrantee. So far communication is less than great.If I need to return the fireplace heater, I will look at a different possibility.

I really like this product. I was weary because I live in an apartment, for now, and it's small and I wasn't sure how big it would be, and I was going back and forth and sending fireplace heaters back because I wanted something to keep me warm, but also something pretty to look at as well.I am still up in the air about it, I'm going to keep it because my boyfriend is tired of me sending stuff back, but I will tell you something, it really does heat the place up! I have a living room that's about 8x8 to 10x10 measurements, roughly. One night last week, I can't remember how cold it was out, but I put it on 72 and it warmed up my room fast! Like it got hot! I had to turn it down!Now, let me tell you about my place. I live above a school, so if any heat does rise up, it comes from there, but I totally don't use any supplemental heat. Having said that, I can withstand the cold pretty well, and I just don't want to use baseboard heat. I don't keep this running for hours a day, I just use it for maybe a hour or two to keep the chill off.I haven't received an electric bill, so I can't speak for that yet, although in all honestly, yes I totally expect an increase, because yes, I'm using more electricity.I will say this, it can be loud. I'm legally deaf, but I can hear pretty well with my Cochlear Implant, having said that, when I go into my kitchen, which is connected to my living room, and I am behind the motor of the fireplace. I can hear it. It's not terrible, and you get used to it. My boyfriend can hear it when he sits by it in the front, and he says it's a little loud, but he's sensitive to sound. It doesn't bother him to the point where he focuses on it though, tv can override the sound.I really wanted to write a review simply because I can obsess over objects that I am buying, and sometimes I question what I'm reading as far as reviews are the real thing.So, here's my take so far, it works for warming up a room really well, although it may take a minute. The flames itself aren't really realistic, however, I enjoy watching them and just sitting in front of the fireplace. It can be loud, but for the most part, I don't hear it, (but again, deaf girl talking, half the time, I take my Cochlear Implant off, so a bomb could go off, and I wouldn't hear it!). Right now it's kind of under a table, so it's at the end of the table, exposing it's back side where the motor is, so once I get rid of the table, and be able to press it closer, but not next to the wall, I think that would eliminate the sound issues some.One thing that I forgot to mention that did throw me off. The place that the where the space radiates the heat, when the heat isn't being used, it can have a white light sometimes, from the flames and for some reason it throws me off. I really didn't like that, and one reason I almost sent it back, but honestly, for the price, it works really well for what I need. I would love a big fancy one, but it's not in my budget, and honestly I wouldn't know where to put it!So, would I recommend, yes, I would, At first I feel cold air blowing out, but I think that's the heater warming up, but then it turns hot and enjoyable. I'm kind of in the middle of the road with it. I do think that it makes a good background for good food selfies, that's for sure!

This turned a dreary room into a cozy spot to watch television. I absolutely love this I highly recommend! It heats the room up nicely. It looks beautiful definitely worth the money!

The media could not be loaded.  My real FP doesn't put out heat so I purchased this electric FP. This FP is small but puts out head to a 35 x 25 room. I am very pleased with it. It was pricy but it works well and looks good 5 Stars and I do recommend purchasing it if you are considering it.

I like it, BUT....it came without the remote and an instruction booklet. Instructions I can live without. The controls are simple. INo remote, however, IS a problem. You CAN use it with just the controls on the front but it is very inconvenient. The metal grate across the front, not to mention having to bend or squat down to see controls, makes it difficult to use. One of the reasons I got this unit is the digital controls AND remote. More specifically....the remote. I hate to have to return the unit to Amazon because I really like it. And it is heavy. It's about 50 lbs. So stuffing it back into the box to be without it for the cold snap that is hitting this week....well, that does not make me happy. I see on the Amazon shipping label that this was shipped from an Amazon Return Center. Gee...I bet I know why it was returned.I have emailed the company to see if it is possible to get a replacement remote. I surely hope so. I would prefer to even spend a few dollars and have the use of the heater in the meantime. Hopefully I will get a timely response and a solution. Otherwise it will have to go back. If a remote magically appears to my satisfaction, I will give this more stars and update the review.Now, the heater itself. I like it. I must be getting old, because I never thought I would find fake flames amusing. But I do. The fake flames are pretty realistic...for fake flames. :) The unit is nice looking. It doesn't look overly cheap like faux wood can. Came in good condition despite the box being a little beat up and the remote missing. It's attractive.As other reviewers have noted, this thing is not gonna' heat your whole house very well. I have it running in my living room right now, which I generally heat with an EdenPure GEN4. No comparison. EdenPure GEN4 kicks its butt. That is no surprise. So, I think if you were to try to heat up to 1500 square feet with this, which the manual alleges it can, you'd likely be disappointed. That said, it is doing a nice job of heating my living room which is somewhere around 500 square feet. And drafty. With a fairly high ceiling. I actually plan to use this in my bedroom, which is considerably smaller. I expect it will do that quite well.If I can resolve the missing remote issue without having to return the product, I will be very pleased with this purchase. Even my dogs like the fake flames.UPDATE: The manufacturer is replacing the missing remote free of charge. Amazon gave me a discount for the inconvenience and missing remote/manual. I am very happy. Amazon made this right; the missing remote is being replaced. I am very happy with this item. I like it so much I bought a second one that I am using in my living room. It actually heats my livingroom better than my EdenPure Gen4. I really like that it is thermostat controlled and does not just run the heat all the time, like my EdenPure does. I will be interested to see how the energy efficiency stacks up against the EdenPure. But for the cold snap we just had here in Oregon, these have been great.

The media could not be loaded.  The unit came in perfect condition with zero blemishes or imperfections. It was exactly as described. The fan is quiet and only makes a tiny humming when it starts up. The heat is abundant, the glass on the unit stays cool, the heating element is the only hot spot on this unit. It warms up a small room quickly - ours is a 12x15 basement tv room. It can also be surrounded by a surround/ mantel as long as there is ample room for air flow

Love everything about it. It has a running noise, but not something that drives me nuts while I work. (It's in my office). Heats up quickly, looks awesome, and the remote control means I don't have to get up while working to adjust either the intensity of he flame or the temp. Of all the similar products I've owned in the past, (wood-stove type heater, electric fan heaters, etc) this one is just great. I live in a 125 yr old house so there are no heat vents upstairs in any of the rooms. These heaters are kind of essential since -40 C is normal during winter here. You won't be disappointed by the price or the product.

I tested the heater on the coldest day in my house. It truly is a great unit, warmed on the main living space quickly. My only complaint, the coasters/wheels....are absolutly horrible. I have crappy thin carpets and I couldn’t even get it to roll on them. I will quickly be replacing them. The flame is realistic, which I love. Unit was larger than expected, a complete plus! Would recommend

The media could not be loaded.  Well after much toing and froing and discarding the idea of construction, this LifeSmart Fireplace Infrared Heater is the best decision that ticks all the boxes: beauty, easy installation and heat for the basement. Although everything is intuitive, the tips and pointers in the manual are a MUST READ. In particular, the info removes potential anxieties such as the initial smell (which was just a matter of a couple of minutes), the length of time to get to a comfortable heat, depending on the area (it is emphasised that the heater is infrared and therefore supplemental to any heating system in use i.e. not 'standalone' - my words here). The humming is a little louder than the reviews mentioned but not grating on the ears. I am a very, very satisfied customer and hope the attachments to this review explain why better than I could with mere words. : )UPDATE on Wed.14-Aug-2019 - I wish I could give this MORE THAN FIVE STARS. I've just responded to another customer's enquiry as to how to change the temperature setting from Fahrenheit to Celcius. My unit came with the default Fahrenheit setting so it had never occurred to me. I called the LifeSmart Support number on the "Read Before Use" flyer enclosed with the Instruction Manual 657-341-0362 and initially felt disappointed to have to leave a voice-message. To my surprise and delight within a couple of minutes I received a call back from Customer Support Agent, RAUL who was so pleasant, waited for me to go to the Fireplace (which is in my basement - it IS summer i.e. not in use!) and within a few seconds I was able to actually make the change. The steps are within my answer under BlackPudding but the precise action is to hold the FLAME ICON for approx. three seconds. In any event, I wanted to give LifeSmart this well-deserved shout out for EXCELLENT customer service as per my promise to RAUL. : )

Just got mine, and first impression is: awesome! Very easy to set up (basically, plug-and-play). The remote makes it easy to bypass the somewhat cumbersome/hidden built-in control panel. The flame (which can operate separately from the heating element) is IMO, absolutely stunning; it has three brightness settings, which I find very useful, depending on the amount of ambient light in my living room. I will update this review after using the product for an extended period of time.
