Really well written
Really well writtenAs I found it entertaining even as an adult to read to a youngster. I can tell this author is going to go far I think she is now written for children’s books and everyone of them has been excellent. I would highly recommend this author to anyone who has young children

Mystery and history
This is a thoroughly enjoyable coming-of-age story which also brings to life major events and personalities of the time. Several mysteries must be addressed by the protagonists, culminating in a case of historical significance. It is also a tribute to the first female detective who achieved employment by the Pinkerton company. Great YA-type reading for boys as well girls, and historical fiction lovers young and old.

Battle of the Books read
I got this book for my 10 year old Daughter for her Battle of the books read - 4th grade. I ended up reading the story also so we could discuss. The story was fun, especially for a young girl to read. It had quite a few cases that were fun and interesting... My daughter liked it as well.

When a young girl finds herself connected to a crucial moment in history
I particularly liked the historical significance, but from a child’s point of view.
