Box knife and pliers and a couple brain cells are all you need.Took a sec to look it over and see what needed to be done, but that took maybe 20 seconds.Every connection went together quickly and easily and worked first time. Careful not to oversqueeze the connection or risk cutting right thru the led pcb.My application was outdoors, so I added 1/2“ 4:1 clear adhesive shrink tubing over the joints.

Purchased Pautix RGB Smart IC COB LED Strip Lights and needed to cut the strips for use in different areas. Bought the cable along with 12mm connectors, lots of options for connecting. Cable was easy to use, flexible and seems to be durable along with the connectors. Just be careful to cut the COB LED lights at the designated locations straight. Wasn't 100% sure how everything worked until I received all the items and it was a breeze to set up and install. I suggest to take the time to lay everything out first and think how the connectors are used (I saw a lot of people had problems with connectors couldn't be used the direction they wanted, I had no issues). The adhesive on the back of the COB LED Strip lights work well, just be sure to clean the area you would like to mount to. Very pleased how the project turned out and now thinking of purchasing more COB LED Lights for other areas.

Overall I think this is a good product and I'm happy with the outcome. I think the Pautix leds are superior to just about any other product as well. You don't need defusers for them and the adhesive strips are strong enough to set and forget. I would have given 5 stars for this product but I don't think it's the easiest thing in the world to use the connectors and they arent reusable like their other ones. I ended up trashing a couple since I was a bit absent minded in handling them. The opening for the strip connectors is really tight so you need a bit of patience, but they do fit. Lastly, the connections can sometimes be a bit sensitive and not communicate real well, but if you move either the wire or led strip connection you can usually find the sweet spot, then set it down and dont touch it again. Not the best scenario but again, it will do.That being said, they do work and after buying 3 other products and returning them, I'm quite relieved and pleased.Love the colors. They are bright and consistent. None of that spotty light nonsense.

Easy to use

Great quality, a good product, and it's very easy to install.

They connect fine, are proper size and had no issues there. If you have these connectors anywhere they could get bumped (dusting or similar), they will not maintain solid connection. There is no way to replace. I thought the teeth may hold better, but they don't. If you have to service any part of tape (I had a bad led), these are useless. You will have to cut back to next cut point to use new connector. You cannot assemble anything on the floor to test, and then install your strips. The connectors are not long/deep enough to stabilize each piece, so the tape will slightly shift and the teeth of the connector will move and make the connections fail. These are better than the spring style connectors, but still not great. Soldier is still the only dependable way to connect pieces.

These are the ones you need for 12mm 3 pin COB LED strips! the amazon recommended 10mm or 8mm will not work. The push in connectors are much better than some other plastic hinge clamping types - similar to RJ45 terminals that stab the wires securely. You get strip to strip and strip to 3 wire pigtail connectors.

TLDR the connectors to join the two light strips together are a total joke. They don’t attach well at all. The connection is super flimsy. Once you attempt to make a connection, if the wires aren’t touching perfectly and you pinch it down now that connector is completely useless and trash.And in order to connect the two light strips together, you have to peel back the adhesive from the light from each of the light strips and that alone takes 30 to 40 minutes and is almost impossible to get that adhesive off. I’ve just lost hours of my life, trying to connect these lights in my closet do not waste your money.
