Is this product 40 mesh, 100 mesh or other?

I am not sure of the actual mesh size. They do filter the debris from my drip irrigation set up. The mesh does appear to be finer than a standard hose mesh though.

Which way does this go in first, the screen side or the gasket side?

I've always pointed the mesh towards the water source so that it would spread out anything collected from the flow over the whole mesh surface. Reversing it, I believe would allow the mesh cone to fill up and block the flow quicker. On the other hand, if your water source is always clean, like clear city water, it should not matter which way you install it.

outside diameter is 1 inch or 24mm? It's not the same. 1inch means 25.4mm. Could you please confirm? Thanks!

My husband purchased 2 different orders of these over summer and the bags aren't marked. He measured the ones he had close by and they are 1". Not sure if they are this brand or another, sorry!
