How long are the air hoses thst attatch to the flush plate?

They were about 1m in length and cut to fit as appropriate

If you are using this with a single flush button, does it matter what inlet you use on the flush valve, and do you have to block the other one off ?

Yes it does. You can leave one of them unattached, but you need to connect the single button to the full moon, as that is the full flush. The half moon symbol indicates the water saver flush.
