Excellent piece of machinery.

I have tried many sharpeners in the past, I never really got an edge to paper cutting sharp with any of them. Given Paper cutting sharp is only the first level of a sharp knife, but this Tormek makes it possible to do that even with the worst of beat up blades. I highly recommend this, the 50 year warranty is good for the homeowner who may not use this machine heavily, as you put lighter use on the machine, the longer warranty is really a good option.

Great machine, but be warned there is a steep learning curve. Highly recommend starting off on a few beater knives first. That said, this is a highly overpriced set up. You’re a lot better off learning to freehand.

The best tool for sharpening chisels quickly and consistently.My box was missing the honing compound, the square and the water additive that I have seen it supposed to come with. That doesn't take away from the tool itself - im sure someone purchased it and returned it, but kept those few items.A bit disappointing - hence the 4 stars.5 stars for the tool itself

How many products have you seen in your life with a 50 year warranty? This is a special edition of the gold standard in sharpening—the last sharpening system that I ever need to buy. So far it has been easier and safer to use than my previous setup—a “low speed” grinder with diamond wheels. The Tormek is slower and safer, with way more precision in the jig system. There is a little bit of freehand involved, though, but with a little practice you should be laying down perfect edges on everything from kitchen knives to carving hatchets to woodturning gouges.If you are looking for the cheapest setup for one particular set of tools, this is probably not the way to go. But if you want a tool that will handle any edge you come across for 50 years, this investment will pay off.

Tormek has done a great job in showing how diverse this tool sharpener is. It is great quality and performs like a well oiled machine, no pun intended. For someone who needs to constantly reshape or sharpen tools, this is it! Within minutes of unboxing I was able to quickly put the sharpener to use. If you can afford it, it is definitely worth the purchase.

So fast and easy to use, it takes longer set up and take down, than it does to sharpen. I sharpened 10 kitchen knives in about 20 minutes, watch a few videos and you will be fine, not honing the diamond wheel is worth every extra dollar
