This "oil" is amazing!
This product works! A family member had numerous itchy sores on their scalp, that would not heal, even after many months. We had already tried using extra conditioners, sunlight, and olive oil, but nothing worked. We sprayed a mist of this tea tree oil on the sores (1 cup of water with 16 drops of oil, shaken well), using a plant-spray-mist bottle. We also mixed a few drops of tea tree oil into a little shampoo and washed the person's hair like normal. The sores ALL healed, practically overnight, and have not returned. Color me thankful!!I recently learned that tea tree oil will kill a nasty skin parasite called "Demodox mites." (Look them up! yuk!) Many people are beginning to think that these little skin parasites are what cause acne and rosacea. (They also cause blepharitis, which is an inflammation of the eyelids; it's common among older people, because the mites live inside the base of hair follicles of the eyelashes, with their tails sticking out, eating skin oil. Gross.) I am going to try misting this stuff on some family members who are suffering with acne, and see if it helps.I originally bought it because a friend told me that tea tree oil will make a tick let go and remove its own head from your skin. I tried it once, but after waiting 20 minutes, I think all it did was suffocate the tick. Maybe next time I'll use the spray bottle, instead of putting it on the tick undiluted. She also told me that if you want to use it as an insect repellent, you can mix it with vinegar and water, and spray it on your legs & clothes. It is utterly harmless as long as you dilute it with either water or another oil (such as olive oil). Don't drink it, though.
