I used it in my crocheted sun hat brim. It was easy to use and I can fold my hat and open it to wear. The wire gave the brim the right edge.

Would buy again

This product is advertised as being 1mm (18g) wire. It is not even close! Including the cotton sheath the wire measures .8mm (20g) and the wire itself is .4mm (26g). If you are looking for millinery wire, this isn’t it.

Rated two stars only because TECHNICALLY it is as advertised, but the wire must be aluminum because it's super lightweight and pliable. Definitely not able to hold the brim of a hat. I think the cotton around the wire has more support than the wire itself!

This is a really disappointing product. I purchased it to use to give shape to the brim of a crochet cat hat I made. But the wire is SO thin I can't conceive of how this would help give shape to the brim of a hat of any material whatsoever. Sure, it is memory wire, but barely. It can be easily crimped, and then it loses its shape and doesn't snap back. In other words it's practically useless. Don't waste your money...I sure did.

Extremely disappointed that the description of use stated brim support & clearly this is completely false! There is absolutely no support!!!

Very clever stuff—very bendy but exceptionally resilient. The outer paper coating adds further value because of the unexpected grip it offers. Excellent for invisible armatures in fine/lightweight figures you want to have the ability to move and bend.

This is definately NOT millinery wire. I would not recommend this for any hatmaking purposes
