Not enough content, for the money
Unfortunately, I regret to leave a less than favorable review. My review is not so much for the content, but the lack thereof. When I make a purchase, of any kind, I consider the "value" of my purchase as, what I receive against what I have paid. This book is 150 pages of content, but the spacing between lines and margins are extremely excessive. Also, there is a large amount of repetition...not of ideas, but of actual paragraphs. I bought this book for my wife and I, to read in the mornings, before we start our work day and yesterday was our first day with the book. We read the first chapter(pgs 7-16) and it took less than five minutes, because each page was so "fluffed", however, we stopped there and discussed, like we always do. Today, we started in on the second chapter and I immediately started to have a "deja vu" moment(ironically: a line from his first chapter). The reason I was feeling that way was, because he was repeating himself from the first chapter. I don't mean that he was continuing "thoughts" from his first chapter, but he was literally reprinting the same content. I really don't want this to be a big slam on a new author, but I would like Michal to take some of this constructively, for future books. I feel that I have bought a big bag of potato chips at full price, but when I opened it up, it was 75% air. If this book were spaced and margined to the norm and without the repetition, it would realistically be a 50-60 page book and that is where I do not feel I received the "value", for the price I paid. Michal, I know this book is probably your first and I hope in the future, that you can take some of what I've said, to heart.

Quick inspirational read to review our purpose and make steps to success
Stawicki elaborated on purpose, motivation and how to achieve focus in order to achieve success. He writes the book with personal note, which makes it unique. He uses personal experience including personal “experiments” to explain his points.I personally feel this is the down-to-earth version of “8th Habit” by Stephen Covey – not because its content is the same – but I feel that “Directed by Purpose” is a product of a bigger inspiration. I did not read anything in the book that refers to the 8th habit (only the 7 Habits) but using other experts and books as resource makes me see Michal Stawicki as the example of who we can be. That using the inspiration, example and work of others, he is the work in progress, the proof that there is success for the average Joe. He is the guy who talks about struggles on typical habits as watching TV, playing computer games; experiments on online pursuit such as blogging, digital publishing; and passion such as writing. Isn’t that you and me?

Best Stawicki Yet
Though I am a senior citizen and have read it all and seen it all, I read everything this author writes because he helps me make progress toward closing the gap between my values and my actions. I find myself farther along the path toward being the person I have always wanted to be. Thanks, Michal! Like most of us, I want succeeding at my purpose to benefit others as well as myself. You continue to work on yourself and bring new ideas to every book. It only gets better. The ideas in this book have not only helped my succeed at all I am doing, but they also have brought me the peace of knowing better how to do the right thing.

Very Insightful!
This book is an excellent read and gives readers a deep understanding of creating purpose and heightening individual self-awareness. The author covers many critical aspects of living a goal-oriented life including getting work done, forming habits, remaining focused, and staying motivated. I enjoyed Stawicki’s thoughts on the relationship between passion and those around you including family, peers, colleagues, mentors, etc. Surrounding yourself with a group of individuals who are like-minded and supportive truly makes a difference. I enjoyed reading this book!

Best book for busy people
So many "self help" books are hundreds of pages long, bursting with anecdotes to hopefully inspire you to be more like those people in the stories. This is not one of those books. Michal has gleaned the basic truths of many, and written them in an accessible way that even the busiest of people can make time to read.I have an early edition of this book, and the aesthetic formatting (such as fonts, line spacing, paragraph positioning, etc) are not "polished." But that is irrelevant, since the content doesn't need fussy packaging to offer excellent advice.Highly recommend. I re-read this book once a year because it is so valuable.

I kept it because it's such a good example of a bad book
It's strange how little care was given to publishing this book. Poorly edited, if edited at all, with hilariously unprofessional formatting decisions throughout. It's the kind of book that contains information that someone came up with by just writing what came to them, loosely based on their own philosophies, but following no thesis, or at least not backing up any claims, or even moulding them into a convincing, or persuasive suggestion. I will continue to show it to people so they can see that care in formatting and investing in an editor is when self-publishing, and also to demonstrate how anyone can publish a book, even if your content isn't good, which helps boost the confidence that perhaps it is possible to publish their ideas.

I I I
If the author eliminated the word, "I", the book would be half the size. Rampling opinions and personal stories together with some commonly known motivational stuff.I need to stop buying these easy bake self-published books.
