very surprised how small this is.
I was very surprised how small this thing is, you can actually attatch it to a keyring, even the Crucial X6 which I bought a while ago is bigger than this drive, I like that it also has a activity light, right where the keyring attatches, great little drive and feels solid it measures 2" x 2.5" and has a thikness of about 1cm. Would recommend. **UPDATE** After using this for a few days now, the drive became unrecognised on my PC and I ended up losing lots of files, as I had to use partitioning and formatting software to get the drive recognised again. I would highly recommend as soon as you buy this drive, to download the software for it "Crucial Storage Executive" and run the firware update for the drive, as it fixes/makes the drive more stable. My drive was reporting 3 bad sectors, which I was able to fix, so make sure you update the drive to latest firmware before doing anything else, otherwise you may lose data like I did.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fast, Reliable & Perfect for Creative Work
I’ve been using the Crucial X10 Pro 2TB Portable External SSD for a little while now and it’s honestly been a game changer. The speed is incredible. File transfers are ridiculously fast – even large 4K video projects move across in seconds rather than minutes. It keeps up effortlessly when editing directly from the drive, with no lag or stuttering. For anyone working with big files, this thing is a beast. The build quality feels premium and solid. It’s compact, lightweight, and easy to throw into a bag without worrying about it. The design is sleek and minimal, and it doesn’t get excessively hot under heavy use like some other portable SSDs I’ve tried. Setup was completely plug-and-play on both Mac and Windows. No hassle, no weird formatting issues – just worked straight out of the box. The 2TB capacity is perfect for storing active projects, backups, and media libraries without constantly juggling space. It gives real peace of mind knowing everything is backed up on something this fast and reliable. If you need a high-performance portable SSD for work, travel, or general storage, I highly recommend this. Worth every penny.

Failed after one month – stuck in read-only mode and cannot be formatted
I bought the Crucial X10 Pro 2TB portable SSD less than one month ago and it has already failed. After roughly a month of normal use, the drive suddenly switched to read-only mode. The files can still be read, but nothing can be deleted, and the drive cannot be reformatted. macOS Disk Utility cannot erase it and the drive is now effectively unusable. This appears to be a known failure behavior with SSDs when the controller detects an internal fault, but it means the drive becomes locked and impossible to wipe. I contacted Crucial support expecting a straightforward warranty replacement. Instead, they insisted that the defective drive must be returned in its original condition before they will replace it. The problem is that the SSD contains private and sensitive data that cannot be securely erased because the drive is locked in read-only mode. Crucial’s response was simply that I should send the drive back anyway and trust that they will securely erase it once they receive it. That is not an acceptable solution. Expecting customers to mail storage devices containing personal data when the device itself prevents secure deletion is unreasonable. So in summary: -The drive failed after less than one month -It became read-only and impossible to format -The warranty process requires sending back a drive containing data that cannot be erased -Product rating: 1 star; Customer service: 1 star. Because of this experience, I will not be buying Crucial storage products again. If you are considering this SSD for important files, backups, or professional work, I would strongly recommend looking at alternatives.

Blazing Fast, Rock Solid, and Reliable – Perfect for Creative Work and Backup
I’ve been using the Crucial X10 Pro 2TB for a few weeks now and I’m seriously impressed. The advertised speeds (up to 2100MB/s read and 2000MB/s write) aren’t just marketing fluff—this drive flies. Large video files, RAW photo backups, and even full macOS Time Machine backups copy across in minutes, not hours. I’m using it with both a Mac Mini (M1) and a Windows laptop, and the USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 interface has worked flawlessly with both. It comes pre-formatted in exFAT, which is handy for cross-platform use, but I reformatted it for APFS on my Mac without any issues. Build quality is excellent. It’s compact, sturdy, and has a soft-touch rubberised finish that feels nice in the hand. I’ve taken it out on shoots and it’s held up well in bags, in pockets, and even in light rain—IP55 water and dust resistance gives real peace of mind. Pros: Extremely fast read/write speeds (real-world tests were close to spec) Compact and durable design Works on both Mac and PC Feels premium and rugged Stays cool even with heavy file transfers Cons: USB-C cable is a little short (as usual!) Pricier than basic SSDs, but you’re paying for top-tier performance If you’re a photographer, videographer, or just want a fast, trustworthy backup drive, the Crucial X10 Pro is a solid investment. Highly recommended.

Great for 4K video storage.
Just what I needed to download video files to whilst on my EU tour of the sunny bits. From micro SD to this 2Tb SSD fast & furious. Worth paying extra for the quicker read/write speed. Because they are expensive, I gave it 4*'s; other than that, it is great. And so bloody small, just hope I don't lose it.

Great for the traveller.
I am a very keen, but not very good, amateur photographer and needed a way of down loading RAW digital photo's from my camera while out and about. Photographic equipment can be very big a bulky so, my first priority was, I needed an External SSD that was small and light. During my search I came across the Crucial X10 Pro and it has proved to be a great addition and help in my quest to create that great photo! It's light weight, robust, Read/Write speeds are phenomenal and small enough to fit in your top pocket. Great piece of kit.

Fast, Portable and Reliable
I've always bought SanDisk drives, and while there's nothing wrong with them I decided to try out this as at the time it worked out cheaper. Unfortunately I have not been able to use it on a macbook that can utilise its speeds, however i bought this with the forethought of purchasing my M4 Macbook Pro Max. Using this on my windows PC with a USB A 3 port has yielded great results. I edit off this drive when in Lightroom and DaVinci and there is no issues AT ALL! The drive doesn't get hot, and its so small you can carry it with you anywhere - smaller than the SanDisk drives.

DO NOT BUY!
It's not yet been 1 year and the SSD is not recognised. I don't recommend this one bit. I have been jugling the Amazon's website to find support. Nothing. I tried Crucial's website for support. Nothing. It's an absolute nightmare as I have over 1TB data on this hard drive. What am I going to do? I tried using different cables. It didn't work. I tried turning my Mac off and on. It didn't work. I tried it on a windows PC. It didn't work. The SSD appears to be dead and I don't know what I can do! DO NOT BUY THIS unless you are happy to lose all of your data. I have used more than 10 hard drives for the last 20 years. Harddrives even older than 10 years are still working but this one has not yet been 1 year. I used Seagate, Samsung, Western Digital, Toshiba etc. All still work. Not this.

Perfetto
