Okay, okay, let me get this straight. Ticonderoga made a pencil that is wood-cased, unsharpened, 2 HB Soft, and black? And they threw in a dozen? Man, this is serious business. Let's get into it.Firstly, these pencils have an all-black design that's sleeker than a new Bugatti. I'm talking 'Men in Black' level of sleek. I swear, every time I pick one up, I feel like I'm about to sign a million-dollar movie contract.Now, they come unsharpened which made me go, "What? I gotta do the work now?" But then, it hit me. It's about the journey, not the destination, you feel me? I mean, sharpening these babies up is like your pre-game warmup. You gettin' ready to hit the paper and make that masterpiece!The 2 HB softness? Man, let me tell you, writing with these is smoother than butter on a hot skillet. It's like Michael Jackson's moonwalk, but on paper. It's like they took a little bit of cloud, mixed it with a sprinkle of velvet and voilà, we got the Ticonderoga experience!The 12 count pack? Listen, I've lost more pencils than I can count. So Ticonderoga, giving me a full dozen, you're the real MVP. I got enough pencils to last me a whole two weeks! (I'm kidding... sort of.)And don't get me started on that name... Ticonderoga. Sounds like a place where superheroes train or something. I can hear the epic movie voice: "In a world where stationery is paramount, only the ones trained in the art of Ticonderoga can save the day."So if you're sitting there, thinking, "Do I really need these Ticonderoga Wood-Cased Pencils?" Let me tell you, buddy, you're asking the wrong question. The question is, "Why don't you have them already?" Seriously, what are you waiting for? Go grab 'em now!

Great pencils! The product page for these pencils state: "The World's Best Pencil with an exclusive #2 HB graphite core formula provides extra smooth performance." They have this totally awesome black coating on them, which make the pencil comfortable to hold, and provides gripping on it, so it doesn't roll or slip when you are writing. Something I really like about these pencils is that they are made from reforested quality cedar wood, and the erasers are latex free. No wonder they are so great! The graphite in these pencils is nice and soft, for a smooth writing experience. As stated before, they are #2, so these pencils can be used at home and on all those standardized tests. They are easy to sharpen and don't break off 50 times before you can use them after sharpening (I find that in some cheaper pencils, the lead breaks alot when sharpening - I end up losing half the pencil by the time I can actually use it and I waste a bunch of time getting frustrated with the pencil breaks/sharpening sessions when trying to write something.... can't afford that time waste during a timed test!). These pencils are made by the Dixon Ticonderoga Company, which has been around since the 1700's... it is obvious, with hundreds of years of practice, they know what they are doing! I definitely recommend these pencils to anyone who uses pencils and wants a great experience!.

Ticon pencil.. the teachers choice for their best quality. I spend a little bit more for the color black because very quickly pencils dissappear from my kids desks and school bags. I have to keep buying more and more! However most other kids have traditional yellow so it's easier to identify ours from theirs and less go missing.

Great pencils, high quality, and theres a good feel to em, yknow? Like, that good classic pencil feel, with the scritch scritch and all that. Nice wood, very nice wood; almost soft to the touch, but not quite, just... comfortable. Perfect pencils. Love them. Will buy again.

I tried different pencils, this one the Ticonderoga BLACK is a great pencil. Writes smoothy, nice even black color. Sharpens well, no breakage. Great for illustrations. Bonuse, nice plastic eraser too instead of those cheaper pink ones that gets hard and ruins your work. More expensive than other pencils, but worth the extra cost.

Having seen some poor reviews I was prepared to be disappointed with the black pencils but they are not too bad. I have used the yellow ones for drawing and find them quite good and feel quite nice and the yellow are made from cedar. The black ones, however, are not made from cedar and the finish is not quite as good but for drawing they are still OK. I would not swap a yellow (made in Mexico from cedar) for a black (made in China from ?) But hey use what you have and close your eyes!
