Bit more expensive than some but its well worth it, Brilliant!. We had one that had 2 sections of perspex and it buckled in the wind, was rubbish, this is a game changer. solid, looks great. I fitted it on my own which was a bit of a faff measuring and lifting up the ladder but if you can get help it will take half the time and make your life so much easier. I used clear adhesive tape on the edges for an extra seal, then used adhesive, sealant mastic in the grooves on the frame and underneath once fitted. Bought 3, 1 for the back door and 2 to protect our AC units outside. Great item

Canopy seems to be very well made. I have put the parts together which was very straightforward. I have bought two so waiting for help to put them in position. They are very light so not expecting any problems. At this stage very pleased.

Bought for a back door so function was more important than style. It's very light in the box but once assembled is actually quite sturdy and once securely fixed to the wall does a more than adequate job of keeping the rain off the doorstep and keeping me dry! note: it does take two people to get the canopy marked out and bolted onto the wall - it's too big to hold with one hand and mark out or screw in despite its light weight. Overall, it's done what I needed it to do and looks ok.

Having looked at both aluminium and polycarbonate options, I settled with the polycarbonate as it had a 1.2m single span wheres, the aluminium ones I saw, were limited to 1m span - a little tight for a 900mm doorway. Having said that, I would have been happy to invest more on the aluminium for its better durability (?) This canopy was better than some of the slightly cheaper alternatives as the polycarbonate sheet came in one piece - others were joined in the middle; another durability concern. Assembly was easy but, it took a few hours to install on my own with lots of up-and-downs on the step ladder and double measuring for the wall drilling. Hanging was also awkward (for one person) as the expansion bolts supplied are “push-through” and tighten whilst installing. A second set of hands would make things a lot easier. The expansion bolts are okay for the light weight polycarbonate canopy but, for a heavier canopy, I would prefer to use resin anchors on hollow brickwork as the resin would expand and distribute bolt load across the hollow void in the brick.

Perfect canopy, however you will likely need professional installation. This is especially true if the building you're attaching the canopy to is made of extra-hard material (such as stone), or extra-flimsy material (such as plastic or particle board). However once you get it installed, it's a great device. I just wish the advertising had been more clear about how you CAN install it yourself, but ONLY if you're lucky enough to be installing onto a surface which is easily workable.

I bought this for the second time - first one lasted 5 years then became discoloured. The canopy itself is polycarbonate and has open channels running through it. Moss eventually grows up the channels and is difficult to remove, so I covered the open ends with transparent tape so hopefully it'll not let moss spores in. Good quality for the price. Could do with better instructions but a reasonable DIYer will manage ok. The wall fixings have improved since I bought the first one but obviously getting the 4 fixing holes in the right position is imperative. Easier to position when 2 people do it - not easy for a single person to accomplish.
