This is exactly as described, an easy to fit white plastic toilet seat that fits all types of toilets. Mine is a standard cistern with a pan that is accessible from underneath.However I chose this model based on the fact that it was a top fitting seat that didn't involve me having to kneel or lie on the bathroom floor to fit it - I have severe arthritis that makes this no fun at all.There are very clear illustrated instructions on fitting printed on the back of the box and no instruction leaflet to lose. Inside the box the fittings have been placed inside the shrink wrapped seat, so they won't be lost.Fitting really is very straightforward. Push the rubber 'plugs' with metal fitting for a screw carefully in to the holes for a seat fixture. Do this carefully so they don't fall inside the hole. I recommend leaving them slightly above the holes until the screw is fitted, then pushing the plugs firmly home.Push a silicone washer on to the bottom of each black hinge pin fitting .Then place a hinge pin fitting over the holes with the plugs in, insert and gently screw in the long hinge pin screw. (The hinge pins are placed at the front of the fitting, nearest the pan, not the back, otherwise the seat will not cover all the pan when fitted!) Before tightening the screws, match up the hinge pin positions with the holes in the base of the seat and adjust if necessary. Then tighten the screws, making sure the hinge pins don't move out of position. When the hinge is tightly fixed, simply fit the metal hinge covers over the hinge pins and push into place over the hinges. Then fit the seat, positioning the holes over the pins, pushing the seat into place.Pressing a chrome central button on the seat base enables the seat to be lifted off the hinge pins for cleaning.The fitting holes in my loo are quite large, I had no difficulty fitting the rubber plugs in but tightening the screws was slightly trickier and the hinges did move around a little at first. I needed to remove the seat and metal hinge cover again to access the screws and really tighten them up so that everything was secure. That's the fault of my pan I think, as I've had this problem before with seat fittings. The silicone washer does grip the pan well once fully tightened.The soft close lid is very safe and does close gently - ideal for homes with small children. I once cared for a male child who had a nasty accident at home with a falling toilet seat.Summary: Can be used with any type of toilet, great instructions, genuinely easy to fit compared with standard 'bottom fixing' seats.

I never thought I would write a review for a toilet seat, but this one deserves praise. Although it is somewhat aggravating to fit it is extremely satisfying once it's fixed firmly to your loo: it looks good, feels solid, and the closing action is smoooooth. The quick release is easy to use, even one-handed, and makes cleaning easier and more effective. Highly recommended, and I've even considered gifting one!

Really good quality seat. However the rubber grommets that fit into the holes in the porcelain needed filling down as they were too large for our existing bowl. After half an hour of filling down they slotted in nicely with the addition of some washing up liquid to lubricate. Once in its a really snug fit and the soft close works really well. Makes it look like an expensive setup for only a few pounds. Would definitely recommend! After nearly two years of use, there is a fault developing with the two of these I bought, it seems some of the lubricating fluid in the slow release mechanism is leaking out, this reduces the effectiveness of the slow close and now the seats creak. So at some point the seats will have to be taken off and new lubricating fluid will have to be bought and filled into the reservoir to resume normal operation.

Very easy to fit and not bad quality at all. Not sure why some other buyers had difficulty fitting the rubber plugs to the pan - a bit of washing up liquid and a twist and both were snugly in place. Excellent quick release feature for cleaning too. After buying one I even went and ordered another for the bathroom.My only grumble? I wish they made one in wood too.

Compelled to write my first review on Amazon after years of purchases. These are fantastic. Great quality, easy to fit and adjust, all the parts were included, and they work just as described. Bought one first as a trial and have now had 3 more delivered to replace all the toilet seats in the house. Very happy with them. Excellent value too.

Prompt service, looks nice BUT fitments don't. Spent 1 1/2 hours trying to get expansion joint into my standard "Standard" toilet without success I managed to reuse old broken plastic expansion joints and longer screws. My advice is if you get this keep old fitments or invest in different ones, cheap enough from Am.

Bought this for the en-suite and it is better than the Ideal Standard in the main bathroom costing £60. Well made, easy to fit, and my wife loves the fact that it can be removed very easily so for cleaning.
