Quirky set up, works well once sorted.
Nice little programmer - all powered by the USB port so I have found that it is a good idea to feed it through a powered USB Hub - otherwise you get the comms failing and need to unplug and restart everything. Having done that it seems reliable and effective with 40 pin PIC16F877A's,

no software for it
could not get the software for it that didn't have a virus on it, windows 7 up just deletes it if you attempt to download it, so pretty useless

recomended first programmer
bought this thinking here we go again as i bought my first jdm programmer from china, but i never got to program anything with it as it was now i know broken, it had put me off even trying to program anything with it. 5 years down the line i bought this one after reading about the support that comes with it, and i have to say out of the packaging and on to my pc it programmed not 1 but the 3 chips within the matter of minutes, could not believe it. i would highly recommend this programmer as the support that i got off this seller was great, if your new to programming as i am, then this is for you as it gives automatic programming so nothing to set to pins of the pic but also for advanced programmers too
