I thought these would be a nice thing to have on hand. They have a nice elegance to them. The gold trim is a nice touch. I realize they can be thrown away or reused. The question I have is how many times can they be washed before the trim fades and they lose their luster. They are thicker than a paper, foam, or a pressed fiber paper plate. There is definitely some sturdiness to them. I don't know how they will hold up to cutting on them with metal utensils. I think they will scratch and leave grooves from sharper knives with teeth. I like the fact there are 50 of two different styles. Now for what I don't like. Of the 50 dinner plates, 10 arrived cracked in the same place and the 11th has the situation marks where it is ready to break in the same area too. They were not well padded during shipment and the way they are all stacked together leads me to believe it could be a packaging issue. The smaller plates are stacked on top of the larger ones and all 50 of each kind are pressed together in a clear almost vacuum package. There are too many stacked causing a pressure break. The first 3 photos are the dinner plates. The last 2 are the salad plates to show how they are stacked and packaged. There is also a raised ring 9n the bottom of the plates. With them being stacked together, they rub against each other and there is a wear spot on the plates where they touch. I couldn't get a photo that showed this clear enough to illustrate it. All in all, I think it is money well spent for the quantity and overall quality. It's just a shame they arrived broken.

These are heavy. It's going to be hard to throw them out. Much thicker than I expected. A bit fancy for my backyard grilling. Pretty, gold design on a bright white base. Would be excellent for serving heavier food. No worries for these to fold or collapse. Nice for a shower or an event where limited table space is available.

These plastic plates are very durable. They are perfect for parties. Very thick and dont break fast.

This set of dinner and dessert plates are very sturdy and durable. Designed as single use plates for a fancy occasion, they can be washed and reused if you would like - they hold up well to repeated use. In all honesty - we dispose of them after use. I only did the whole wash and reuse thing to test durability over time. They are very sturdy and hold up to larger servings better than paper or foam plates. The gold accent gives them that bit of elegance for fancy events.

These are great plates, I would use them for a low cost wedding or another low key party. They are very pretty and sturdy.

These plastic plates look awesome. From a distance they look like fine china. Being a bachelor I tend to use these when I cook an actual meal, because it cuts down on the amount of dishes. These though would pass very well and look good at a wedding reception or event. They are really classy and solid for plastic ware. Do not put them in the microwave however, I believe the gold rim on the edges must have something metal and them.
