Question 1

can prescription sun glasses br ordered?

Accepted Answer

Aloha! The Makaha style is available in prescription. However, we cannot use the non-prescription frame in this process as there is a frame change to compensate for the prescription lenses. For this style, Maui Jim would have to supply a complete frame and lens set to make the prescription.

Please note, since our prescription lenses are considered a medical device, they must be dispensed through a Maui Jim authorized optician’s office. To find optical retailers near you that can help with a new order, please visit https://www.mauijim.com/US/en_US/store-finder/position#start, enter your zip/postal code, and filter by ‘Sunglasses with Prescription’. These retailers will be able to assist you in checking the compatibility of your prescription with our sunglasses, purchasing a pair of authentic Maui Jim prescription sunglasses, pricing questions, lens colors and frame styles availability. Mahalo!

Question 2

what are the chances of getting fake glasses? are these genuine?

Accepted Answer

Yes, I bought a pair, they are genuine. But apparently the warranty does not come with them, like in the stores. I had a complaint, and it fell on deaf ears. The lens' are secured at the top by screws. The area around the screws began to show stress cracks. Then the stress cracks became holes. The lens began to pop out. The retail stores said they have a strong warranty, so I tried going through Amazon to cash in on that warranty. Nothing!!!

Question 3

What is covered in Mawi Jim sunglass insurance ?

Accepted Answer

Good Morning,Do you mean in Maui Jim's warranty?if so, manufacture defects are what it covers however if the glasses are damaged due to life in general ;) they do have an awesome repair department and can usually fix most issues fairly inexpensively compared to a whole new purchase. Please keep in mind that this line does not allow their authorized dealers to discount, so any discounting stores are not authorized Maui Jim dealers, they do not purchase from Maui Jim and their product does not qualify for warranty privileges and is not guaranteed authentic.I hope this helpsEJ's SunglassesAuthorized Maui Jim Dealer
