I gotta be honest, I might only remove an alternator pulley once every 10 years. But if you do need to it's great to have such a kit handy. However, I more so purchased this because it has commonly used specialty sockets that come in different lengths and variations like torx and triple square. So I'm planning to use those for hard to get spots in other areas and just to have those can be worth it's weight in gold at times! Plus it's better to have them in a neatly stowed case as a kit instead of buying individual ones and then looking for them in a pile...

I’ve replaced at least a dozen alternators between my multiple BMWs, including installation of several remanufactured units, and also having existing OEM units rebuilt. Usually there is one point of failure, meaning that the rest of the alternator is salvageable. This DIPMOTOR kit included all of the sockets and TORX bits I needed to disassemble and replace the main shaft bearing in my BMW E46 alternator. It’s a great tool to have, especially if you have several alternators laying around from which you want to build one good alternator. I am not an expert, but any DIY mechanic can probably find use for at least a few of these sockets. Construction quality of the included components seems decent, and the blue plastic case is nice and compact.

This is a great quality kit, it has a wide variety of parts that seem to be well built. I have an older Volkswagen and this kit fits my alternator pulley very well.The set is good value for the money and I highly recommend it for anyone with an older German vehicle.
