Damn Good Speakers
I replaced my old NHT Outdoor speakers (18 - 20 years old) with the Polk 8 Atrium SDI outdoor speakers.I installed these 6 hours ago, and the installation was so easy.I could not be happier with these speakers. The NHT had the same size Subwoofer (6.5 inches) and a Titanium 1" Tweeter. The Polk speakers have a 6.5-inch Subwoofer and two 1" titanium Tweeter. The Bass is Deeper, and the Highs are higher. I'm in the break in period right now, so I'm sure that they will sound better after playing music for 200+ hours. For now, they sound much crisper and deeper than my old NHT's, which still worked, but I wanted to upgrade to newer technology.The only negative so far, is that they do not support Bannana Plugs. You have to wire your speaker wire thru a tiny hole. This is so old school, and a pain in the A$$. My 18-20 year old NHT speakers supported Bannana Plugs, which I used with no problems.I highly recommend these all-weather proof speakers. My old speakers were fine, but these do sound a lot better.I have now used these speakers for over 600 hours. They are now broken in, and the highs are high, and the lows are low. These speakers are a no brainer.
